Company:

Stelumar Advanced Manufacturing Inc.

Department:

Shared Services

Employment Type:

Full-Time, Permanent

VP, Technology

What we offer

The Quality Systems Manager will initially be focused on establishing the factory's CSA Certification. This will include building and scaling quality systems from the ground up, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and compliance. After launch of the factory, this role will oversee ongoing inspections and customer quality complaints, and ensure manufacturing outputs are consistently high-quality as the factory scales. The role partners closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams. The successful candidate is a collaborative, data-oriented problem solver with strong attention to detail and project management skills.

What you'll do
  • Own end-to-end accountability for the factory's CSA Certification, from initial establishment through ongoing maintenance, and build the quality management system (QMS) that supports it.
  • Establish and monitor quality KPIs, and use production data to drive reductions in defects, scrap, and rework through Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent methodologies.
  • Lead the customer complaint process end to end, using root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and driving corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Partner with design and manufacturing engineering to build quality into products and processes (DFM/DFA) and ensure quality readiness at new product introduction (NPI).
  • Optimize inspection plans, control plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Own supplier quality end to end: audits, qualification and performance monitoring, standard supplier quality manuals, and approval of supplier QA processes during sourcing and engineering design changes.
  • Set inbound inspection criteria and methods per engineering drawings, and run supplier issue management (8D, SCAR) through to corrective action and closure, including supplier certification requirements (ISO, hazardous material handling).
  • Conduct internal audits and assist with external audits and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Partner with production teams to ensure timely resolution of quality issues on the shop floor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field), or equivalent experience.

  • Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis) and Lean/Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience with quality management systems and relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Minitab, or similar).
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functionally and operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous start-up environment.
