Job Description

Position Summary

The Quality Supervisor oversees key quality personnel-including calibration, source inspection, and quality/document control-ensuring accountability, performance, and alignment with organizational objectives. This role actively drives continuous improvement initiatives and supports operational excellence across the quality function. is responsible for leading customer-focused quality activities within an aerospace casting environment.

In addition, this role serves as the primary quality liaison for assigned customers, ensuring timely responses to quality concerns, driving effective corrective actions, and maintaining compliance with aerospace standards.

Key Responsibilities

Team Supervision & Leadership
  • Supervise and provide direction to:
  • Ensure team members are held accountable for assigned duties, deadlines, and quality standards.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Prioritize workload and resources to meet production and customer requirements.

Inspection & Shipping Quality
  • Ensure source inspectors consistently verify that shipped parts are visually conforming and meet all customer requirements.
  • Enforce accuracy and completeness of shipping documentation and certification packages.
  • Hold inspectors accountable for compliance and performance.
  • Provide support to shipping operations during downtime or peak periods to maintain workflow continuity.

Document Control & Quality Administration
  • Oversee and streamline document control processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure proper control, review, and distribution of quality documentation, procedures, and records.
  • Drive standardization and simplification of quality administrative tasks.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100).

Customer Quality Interface
  • Serve as the primary quality point of contact for assigned customer(s) (e.g., GKN).
  • Respond to customer requests for corrective actions (CARs), SCARs, and quality-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities related to customer concerns.
  • Ensure effective communication of customer requirements and expectations throughout the organization.
  • Track and report on customer quality performance metrics.

Corrective Action & Continuous Improvement
  • Drive internal corrective actions for nonconformances related to assigned customer(s).
  • Facilitate structured problem-solving using tools such as 8D, RCCA, or similar methodologies.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for systemic improvements.
  • Lead and support continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and improve efficiency.


Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing and/or casting environment.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or lead role within quality.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems (AS9100 or equivalent).
  • Experience with corrective action methodologies (8D, root cause analysis, etc.).
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and cross-functional teams.

Preferred
  • Experience working with aerospace customers such as GKN or similar OEMs/primes.
  • Knowledge of casting processes and inspection methods.
  • Familiarity with calibration systems and requirements.
  • Experience improving document control or quality systems.
