Role PurposeThe Quality Manager provides leadership of Operational Quality within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for the execution of corrective actions, daily production quality oversight, customer containment, operational audit execution, and floor-level continuous improvement. The position ensures disciplined adherence to the established Quality Management System through effective execution and cross-functional collaboration.
Scope & ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:- Lead daily production quality oversight and floor-level quality decision-making.
- Ensure operational compliance with the established Quality Management System (QMS).
- Analyze operational quality metrics such as scrap, rework, containment, and internal sorting hours to identify improvement opportunities.
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to resolve escalated operational quality issues.
- Drive floor-level continuous improvement initiatives that reduce defects and operational risk.
- Maintain full ownership of CAR, NCR, and CAN execution and closure discipline.
- Conduct root cause analysis and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
- Enforce the 30-day corrective action closure standard with documented verification of effectiveness.
- Maintain centralized tracking of corrective actions within CORE or the designated system.
- Review scrap attribution accuracy and ensure accurate operational reporting.
- Ensure operational compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and customer-specific requirements.
- Execute regulatory compliance activities including ROHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, CA Prop 65, and other applicable standards as they apply to operational quality.
- Maintain documentation and records supporting audit readiness related to operational compliance.
- Support Management Review activities through reporting of operational quality performance metrics.
- Execute internal audits in alignment with the audit program established by the Quality Systems Manager.
- Conduct operational and floor-level compliance audits and ensure timely corrective action response and verification.
- Support external audit preparation and participate in audit activities as operational lead.
- Lead containment activities related to customer complaints and internal nonconformances.
- Facilitate Kaizen and operational improvement initiatives.
- Support supplier quality improvement initiatives where operational impact exists.
- Participate in customer-facing quality discussions as required.
- Perform assigned duties in accordance with documented procedures and work instructions.
Work Experience & SkillsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field required. ASQ certification preferred (Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer). Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing certifications are a plus. Work experience can substitute formal education.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in operational quality leadership within a manufacturing environment. Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, corrective action systems, and regulatory compliance execution required.

Working Conditions & Physical RequirementsWork environment: Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment. Subject to inside environmental conditions with protection from weather conditions, though not necessarily from temperature changes.
Physical or operational requirements: Sedentary to light work. May exert up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently. May require standing and walking on the production floor. Close visual acuity required for analyzing data, reviewing documentation, inspecting small parts, using measurement devices, and operating inspection equipment.
