General Description
The Quality Manager is responsible to drive supplier quality management practices, pro-active risk reduction, quality improvements, problem resolution, failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective action, and facilitate continuous process improvements with assigned suppliers. This position will involve working with our key customers providing quick reaction support for quality and delivery related issues. This role will be responsible for planning and executing supplier audits, as well provide regular feedback and technical support to assigned suppliers. In this role you will work closely with sales and project management teams to ensure suppliers are meeting deliverables as outlined. Will be responsible for setting up quality parameters and will act as the liaison between the supplier and the sales/customer support team.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain the Supplier Quality Program and Initiatives
- Ensure the Stephen Gould site and suppliers have proper Quality documentation and records available.
- Develop and perform training for Stephen Gould employees that support corporate and divisional quality initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement and iTLS Programs as well as Quality Programs such as 5s, Six Sigma, QOS and ISO
- Ensure implementation of the Stephen Gould Quality Operating System across the suppliers' operations
- Drive the internal audit program for Quality certifications.
- This is a key position responsible to implement and ensure effectiveness of the Stephen Gould Quality Managment System and Supplier Quality Program
- The position requires working closely with suppliers, customers and internal departments at all levels.
- Responsible for implementation activities, internal and external audits.
- Implement and closely monitor, measure suppliers, and improve the Quality Management System, ISO 9001 and ISO1400 programs, Quality Certifications, Quality Operating System and Corporate Requirements.
- Some travel may be required for supplier audits.
Requirements- Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience required.
- 5-7 years of supplier quality audit experience
- Knowledge of Quality Systems: ISO 9000/9001, 14,000.
- Experienced in heavy regulated industries is a plus
- Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
- Strong PC skills required-Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be able to work in cross-functional and team-oriented environments within a matrix organization.
- A history of implementing best practices and a record of success in supplier management and driving continuous improvement strategies.
