Quality Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Culture, Environment, & Team Leadership

  • Build and maintain a culture anchored on Milwaukee's core values: Candid | User Focused, Solution Driven| Speed, Agility, and Urgency | Relentless Improvement | Extreme Ownership | One Team Mentality | Disruptive Mindset
  • Create and maintain environments that are obsessed with providing world-class quality engineering disciplines in coordination with sister plants, corporate counterparts, and support organizations.
  • Continually develop the Quality Engineering teams themselves, increasing their skills as educators and professionals. Participate in and ensure proper day-to-day leadership of the Quality Engineering workforce.
  • Key contributor in developing strategy for Service Quality in manufacturing operations.


New Product Development

  • Actively collaborate with in-plant and corporate counterparts to implement new products into the operation. This includes:
  • Providing input from concept through end of life on how tool design / features can improve operations.
  • Creating work instructions, service guides, training videos, and other documentation.
  • Designing, testing, and procuring fixtures and tooling for repair operations.
  • Assisting in identifying spare parts, kits, and determining process times.
  • Assisting in-plant counterparts in launching new products onto the floor.

Quality

  • Provide day to day support for production operations. Lead or assist with problem solving to minimize downtime and ensure safety and quality.
  • Own the rapid response team and processes
  • Provide observations and recommendations during corporate Quality reviews.
  • Create and implement a robust process quality regimen, including audits, root causes, corrective and preventive actions.
  • Point of Contact for one-off Quality requests for the facility.
  • Oversees parts quality efforts in the plant.
  • NCMR Process management
  • QPH management
  • Manages ECN change execution in the operation.
  • Driving consistent warranty decisions between hubs in all tool groups.
  • Maintain and manage all quality metrology equipment needed to ensure service part quality.
  • Maintain and manage all service fixturing/testing equipment to ensure service repair quality.
  • Drive continual boomerang reduction efforts to meet annual metrics.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, Operations Management or Industrial Technology, or equivalent education/ work experience
  • Lean / Six Sigma certification or training is highly desired
  • 5+ years experience in production-related engineering.
  • Experience with new product development and/or Design for Service is highly desired.
  • Experience in a Service repair environment is highly desired.
  • 3+ years experience leading people.
  • Demonstrated success in: Creating a high performing engineering organization centered around a strong company culture.
  • Working cross-functionally with geographically distributed support functions and sister plants performing similar activities.
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal are required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS)
