Full Job Description
Position: Quality Manager

Location: 1460 Jackson Drive, Carthage, MO 64836

Job Duties: Lead the implementation, improvement, and monitoring of the company's quality management system to meet customer and the company's requirements and expectations. Lead, develop, and coach branch quality staff to play the roles of (police, doctor, and coach) and facilitate quality branch activities to ensure compliance, identify and resolve quality issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives, while facilitating quality-related activities at the branch. Maintain and improve Branch Quality Management team and system, processes, and procedures. Support the organization to meet customer expectations for products and services. Plan, organize, direct, improve, and control, through the Branch team, the quality system, processes, and compliance. Implement, improve, and monitor the company's quality management system to meet customer, legal, and company`s requirements and expectations. Review and develop action plans to improve Branch Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including cost of poor quality, internal Parts Per Million (PPM), customer PPM, and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submission on time. Lead problem-solving (8D report), implement corrective actions in the branch, and document them in the knowledge database. Manage the Quality Department to provide support to branch operations such as continuous improvement and the Leggett Automotive Manufacturing Production System (LAMPS), and service to the customer. Establish and implement procedures to ensure the quality of incoming and outgoing material. Develop methods to check and ensure midstream and upstream quality in new products (Advanced Product Quality Planning - APQP and safe launch) and ensure the quality of existing products. Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and customer requirements, including IATF 16949 (International Automotive Task Force standard) and ISO/IEC 17025 (General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories). Hold the Branch team accountable for maintaining records and reports in a concise manner and updating documents accordingly. Maintain and improve customer and supplier intimacy through customer visits/contact and create effective working relationships. Fulfill responsibilities in Health & Safety (H&S) as defined by legislation and the company H&S program. Lead a safetyfirst approach, maintaining a zero-accident culture. Ensure and monitor work, accident prevention, and a safe working environment across the business.

Job Requirements: Must have a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial Engineering or a closely related Engineering field. Must have 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer, Quality Systems, or a related quality role. The 3 years of experience must include experience with: quality engineering in the automotive industry; application of ISO 9000 standards; IATF16949 automotive manufacturing standards (previously known as TS16949); 8D and Shainin problem-solving methodologies; statistical analysis and P-charts to identify sources of scrap and implement process improvements; managing supplier and customer quality issues, including problem containment, analysis, and corrective actions; root cause analysis; and engineering principles and process physics to analyze production problems and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Must travel 10% domestically to visit customers or suppliers when quality issues arise.
