Summary: Oversees all aspects of the organization's quality system and quality improvement efforts, including developing and administrating the program, training and coaching employees and facilitating change throughout the organization. Responsible for establishing strategic plans, policies and procedures to ensure quality systems and improvement efforts will meet or exceed internal and external customers' needs and expectations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises all Quality department employees and interns. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the AFSI Quality function. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Facilitates employee professional development and achievement of goals. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Salary Information:- Minimum Hiring Rate: $118,000/year Maximum Hiring Rate: $140,000/year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Plans and implements development of quality department functions and personnel
- Determines need for and purchases test equipment required to meet quality objectives
- Available for contact on an as-needed basis outside of normal office hours for customer, production, or personnel needs
- Evaluates purchase requisitions from quality department staff for approval
- Creates RMA's and issues credit for customer returns
- Collaborates with other company leaders to conduct continuous improvement activities
- Ensures internal and supplier specifications align with customer requirements as PCN, PPAP, APQP, and SQEP administrator
- Acts as company quality liaison to the customer, providing timely and thorough resolution of customer complaints
- Assists with the validation of new liquid filtration products for the customer
- Establishes and maintains controlled document program
- Manages quality inspection and product release programs for all materials and components, processes and finished goods
- Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials and products
- Plans and directs a quality control program which ensures continuous production of conformant finished goods
- Implements and maintains internal Quality Management System (QMS) program and documentation
- Acts as internal management representative in integrating QMS within organization
- Develops and implements a quality plan to bring the company systems into compliance with the QMS requirements
- Formulates quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with other managers to maximize product reliability
- Utilizes a proactive, preventative approach to all quality issues
- Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department
- Administrates the corrective and preventive action system
- Maintains FMEAs and process control plans
- Manages quality assurance function in close cooperation with the customer and with internal management team
- Collaborates with counterparts in EU plant to establish standardized Global Quality Policy
- As part of supplier development, establishes quality requirements for external suppliers
- Works closely with external suppliers to remediate chronically occurring supplier quality problems
- Identifies relevant quality-related training needs and delivers training
- Directs quality control training programs for key personnel
- Ensures tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated
- Works in a safe manner, following all safety policies and procedures while keeping in mind other's safety
- Reports any accidents and potentially unsafe conditions or unsafe acts immediately to appropriate supervisor

- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent in Engineering or Engineering related field; and/or Five to ten years' Production Quality Management experience including two to five years of experience working with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) and quality system audits. MBA a plus.
- Language Skills: Able to read and interpret documents such as technical specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; speak effectively before groups of employees; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Mathematical Skills: Able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. (Removed Trig)
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and must gain proficiency in other applications as required to support the needs of the business
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
ASQ certifications desired. Valid Illinois driver's license required.
Reasoning Ability: Is able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
