About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Quality Manager, the Quality Lead is responsible for providing technical support to senior project staff (Project Managers, Superintendents, etc.) and conducting required quality inspections in accordance with the required codes of construction. This will be a permanent position based in Lima, Ohio, USA.

As a Quality Lead at Graham, you will:
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining the Company Quality Management system
  • Ensure that Quality Control is carried out in a satisfactory manner according to jurisdiction, code of construction, customer standard / specifications and Graham Quality Management System
  • Provide leadership and direction to site QC field inspectors
  • Assist with qualification of Welding Procedure Specifications and Welder Performance Qualification testing
  • Participate and execute internal audits as outlined in the Quality Management System
  • Liaise with Graham Site Execution Management relative to the scope of work requirements
  • Liaise with Client planning, scheduling, engineering, and Quality (integrity) teams related to work pack development
  • Maintain all tracking logs such as: Work pack log, welder/welding operator performance log, bolting log, testing equipment calibration logs etc
  • Must have extensive experience in developing Inspection Test Plans (ITP), quality related check sheets, and records
  • Review and maintain Quality Control records for accuracy
  • Deliver training and mentoring of identified requirements to personnel
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformance relating to the product, process, and quality system. Resolve issues of issued NCRs
  • Direct, document and propose solutions to rectify unsatisfactory workmanship
  • Ensure turnover documentation is completed and delivered to the client relative to the scope of work
  • Foster and promote an attitude of continuous improvement


Experience
  • 7 to 10 years hands on experience in a field or corporate position in a quality role within a maintenance, construction in the oil/gas and Petro chemical environment
  • 3 to 5 years of Quality Supervisory experience in a field or corporate position
  • Significant management experience and exposure to QC delivery
  • Experience with Pressure Equipment and Pressure Piping repair, alterations, and construction scopes (ASME, NBIC, AWS Codes etc.)
  • Experience with preparing ITPs and Quality related check sheets, and records, also assigning welding procedure specifications for maintenance and turnaround work orders


Skill Requirements
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Visio and Outlook
  • Familiar with SAP, Primavera, SharePoint, and QMS databases
  • Read and interpret construction drawings specific to pressure equipment and pressure piping
  • Able to develop and deliver mentoring and training for respective staff
  • Communicate at high level of effectiveness both written and verbally
  • Develop continual improvement processes affecting the site QMS
  • Strong management skills
  • Team player to deliver desired outcomes
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Quality principles, practices, and legislation


Education
  • Degrees i.e., Technician or technologist from a community college
  • Certified trade certification i.e., welder, pipefitter, boilermaker etc. with minimum of 8 years of related industry experience


Professional Designation
  • CSA 178.2 CWB Welding Inspector Level II or III and/or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • Certified Engineering Technologist or other engineering /technical training is an asset
  • API 510, API 570 would be an asset


Special/ Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet demands
