About The RoleFor this expression of interest (EOI), we are currently seeking a Quality Inspector to support field-based pipeline, utility, and infrastructure projects across Alberta.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being in the field and playing a key role in ensuring construction quality and compliance. You'll work closely with QA/QC teams, contractors, and site crews, gaining exposure to pipeline installation, civil construction, and inspection activities including welding, coating, and trenching.
This role is site-based with frequent travel, offering strong project variety and consistent field engagement.
What You'll Be Working On- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Identify and document deficiencies in materials, workmanship, and installation practices.
- Issue and track non-conformance reports (NCRs) and support resolution of quality issues.
- Maintain clear and accurate daily inspection reports, including photo documentation.
- Inspect and verify activities such as welding, coating, trenching, and backfilling.
- Support Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and overall QA/QC processes.
- Review contractor quality documentation and turnover packages.
- Work closely with contractors and site teams to address and resolve issues in real time.
- Support audits and contribute to maintaining high quality standards on site.
What We're Looking For- Experience in field inspection within pipeline, utility, or infrastructure construction projects.
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes and construction compliance.
- Hands-on experience with pipeline activities such as trenching, installation, and backfilling.
- Familiarity with welding and coating inspections is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail with solid reporting and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and confidently in a field environment.
- Strong communication skills when working with crews, contractors, and project teams.
- Willingness to travel frequently across Alberta for site-based work.
- API 1169 certification.
- NACE / AMPP Level II certification.
- Experience with CSA Z662 and pipeline standards.
- Experience with right-of-way and crossing inspections.
Compensation & BenefitsThe estimated hourly rate for this position is
$75 - $95 as of the posting date. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and training.
