Your role and responsibilities:In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of supplier assessments, and drive both corrective and preventive actions based on supplier maturity and performance levels. Each day, you will manage operational supplier quality, both on-site and off-site, ensuring the thorough execution of supplier qualification and development processes. You will also showcase your expertise by managing the supplier's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

You will be mainly accountable for:- Supplier Qualification & Onboarding: Conduct on-site audits and assessments to qualify new suppliers against compliance and quality standards. Lead the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) in collaboration with engineering, supply chain, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless supplier integration into the supply chain.
- Supplier Performance Management & Issue Resolution: Monitor supplier performance metrics (quality, delivery, development actions) through risk-based audits and provide actionable insights. Proactively identify and resolve supplier issues such as non-conforming materials or late deliveries by collaborating with suppliers to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Supplier Development & Continuous Improvement: Enhance supplier capabilities using Lean Six Sigma principles and data-driven assessments. Develop and execute tailored improvement plans with suppliers to drive continuous enhancement of their processes and performance.
- Cross-Functional Partnership & Technical Leadership: Serve as a communication bridge between suppliers and internal teams across engineering, quality, operations, supply chain, and R&D. Apply technical expertise to ensure suppliers meet industry standards and align supplier activities with business objectives.
Qualifications for the role:- Education/Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field (Preferred) with minimum 8 years experience OR Associate's Degree with minimum 10 years experience and ability to travel 50-70%.
- Supplier Management Experience: Background in supplier qualifications, audits, performance monitoring, and issue resolution, with demonstrated ability to drive continuous supplier performance improvements.
- Continuous Improvement & Lean Mindset: Understanding of Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous; formal certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) is valued but not required. Most importantly, you demonstrate a commitment to process efficiency and continuous operational improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with diverse teams across engineering, quality, operations, supply chain, and other functions, aligning activities with business objectives.
- Communication Skills & External Partnership Focus: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience in supplier or customer relations, demonstrating ability to build and maintain long-term strategic partnerships.
- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
