Job Description

The Quality Engineering Manager will work with various teams, in every part of the manufacturing process.

Essential Functions:

Test manufacturing engineering processes, monitor quality standards, create documentation, devise quality assurance tests, and define test result criteria according to established manufacturing engineering standards such as ISO9001, ASME BPE, 3A, ASNT NDT and PED.

Ensure that final precision stainless and specialty alloy tubing products are safe, reliable, and meet customer expectations.

Create quality engineering practices, standard operation procedures (SOPs) and relevant documentation for precision stainless and specialty alloy tubing products.

Eliminate process variation by creating, revising, and strictly implementing a set of tightly and precisely defined procedures and quality standards to ensure the final quality of the product.

Set out appropriate quality assurance tests and acceptable results to ensure testing for quality throughout manufacturing process is effective and adheres to applicable specifications/standards and internal requirements.

Oversee quality assurance testing and inspections of precision stainless and specialty alloy tubing products, develop sampling and testing/inspection plans, investigate non-conformances, initiate, implement, and coordinate corrective and preventative actions as appropriate.

Interface with inspection and manufacturing personnel on technical issues, specification requirements, inspection methods and quality scheduling. Improve the output quality of a process by identifying and removing the causes of defects and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes. Collect and analyze data for root cause determination and implement problem solving methodologies to improve process performance, quality performance, compliance to requirements, improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.

Provide metric and monthly report data for management. Support and ensure ongoing conformance to ISO9001, ASME BPE, 3A, ASNT NDT, PED, and applicable ASTM certifications.

Review and approve new and revised internal procedures, work instructions and documents within the quality engineering system to assure current regulatory, industry standards/specifications, certification and customer requirements continue to be achieved.

Manage and execute internal and external audits.

Identify, document, and correct non-compliances related to products, processes, and procedures.

Up to 30% travel, including international, required.

Supervise up to 15 employees: Quality/NDT Supervisor, Metallurgical Lab Technician, NCM/Backshop Working Team Lead, Quality Technician, BPE Inspectors, and Quality Inspectors.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering or a closely related field (foreign equivalent accepted), and

Experience: 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment as a Quality Engineer or Manager, Operations Manager, or similar position.

Skills/Requirements:

5 years' experience in each of the following:
  • Manufacturing engineering standards such as ISO9001, ASME BPE, 3A, ASNT NDT and PED compliance.
  • Developing and implementing quality engineering practices, standard operation procedures (SOPs) and relevant documentation for precision stainless and specialty alloy tubing products.
  • Testing for quality assurance and inspections of precision stainless and specialty alloy tubing products.
  • Collecting and analyzing data for root cause determination and implementing problem solving methodologies to improve process performance, quality performance, compliance to requirements, improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
  • Overseeing the manufacturing of Nickel Alloy and Stainless Steel tubes.
  • Leading the quality and manufacturing process of Laser and Tig welding.
  • Developing quality processes and procedures related to manufacturing of tubing including in process testing of Eddy Current, Ultrasonic Testing, Corrosion Testing, and surface requirements.
  • Leading team of one to two professional engineers across 24/7 operation while executing improvements in KPI and TOC measurement techniques.

All experience, skills, and requirements may be gained concurrently.

Relocation is authorized for this position.
