Position OverviewThe Quality Engineering Manager is responsible for leading Quality Assurance efforts supporting the production of complex systems for a next-generation telecommunications satellite constellation. This role ensures that all products meet stringent quality, reliability, and compliance standards while driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. The position requires a strong leader capable of developing high-performing teams, optimizing quality systems, and partnering cross-functionally to meet production, cost, and schedule objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and own all Quality Engineering activities, including inspection plan development, nonconformance management, and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) processes
- Establish, implement, and continuously improve quality systems, processes, and procedures to support production operations
- Oversee compliance planning and execution to ensure adherence to internal standards and regulatory requirements
- Manage and develop a team of Quality Engineers, ensuring performance, accountability, and professional growth
- Ensure manufactured products meet all quality standards while maintaining alignment with production schedules and cost targets
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies
- Lead internal audits and support external audits as required; ensure effective closure of findings
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance quality awareness, technical capability, and process adherence
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations to resolve complex technical and performance issues
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and operational excellence across the team
QualificationsEducation:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field preferred
Experience:- Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising Quality Engineering teams (5+ direct reports)
- Experience leading quality operations within manufacturing or production environments
- Proven track record of driving quality improvements and resolving complex nonconformance issues
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in aerospace, telecommunications, or other high-reliability industries
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and regulatory compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with production environments involving complex electromechanical systems
