Full Job Description
Quality Engineering Lead
Employment Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Role Location: Hybrid - Atlanta, GA (3 days per week in office)
Industry: Consumer Goods

About the Role

We are looking for a Quality Engineering Lead to join our team. This role supports a leading organization in the Consumer Goods industry. The project is based in Atlanta, GA and is building, modernizing, and scaling Customer & Commercial product platforms across its North America business - including sales, service, and customer experience capabilities, operated under a modern Product Operating Model.

In this role, you will be responsible for owning product quality outcomes end-to-end and embedding quality as a first-class engineering discipline within a product team. You will ensure that reliability, resilience, security, and customer experience are designed into the product while enabling rapid, safe delivery - partnering equally with Product Management, Product Design, and Engineering to define what success looks like, prevent defects, and continuously improve customer trust and system integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own product-level quality outcomes, including reliability, usability, performance, accessibility, and defect escape rates.
  • Define and operationalize quality OKRs aligned to product and business outcomes.
  • Ensure quality risks are visible, quantified, and actively managed - not deferred.
  • Establish, design, and implement the quality strategy for the product, including: test automation at all levels (unit, integration, contract, E2E); performance, scalability, and resilience testing; security and compliance validation.
  • Shift quality left into discovery, design, and development phases; ensure testability is a core architectural requirement.
  • Operate as a full partner within the Product Triad; participate in discovery to identify quality risks early through prototypes, experiments, and pre-mortems.
  • Influence product decisions by articulating quality trade-offs with customer and business impact.
  • Define and enforce quality engineering standards, frameworks, and tooling; embed automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Partner with Engineering Leads to improve design for observability, resilience, and failure isolation.
  • Lead root cause analysis for escaped defects and incidents; drive systemic improvements, not one-off fixes.
  • Reduce manual testing dependency through automation and tooling leverage.
  • Build and lead a high-performing Quality Engineering capability; coach and lead by example, helping other quality engineers think like product engineers.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Communicate quality health, risk, and trends to executives in outcome-oriented language; align product quality practices with enterprise security, risk, and compliance expectations.
  • Advocate for quality investments with clear ROI and risk-reduction framing.

Basic Qualifications
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, and adaptable to new technologies and legacy systems.
  • Thrives in a team environment, actively contributes to collaboration, fostering a sense of community.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to issue resolution.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience in the Product Operating Model.
  • 8-12+ years in Quality Engineering, Test Engineering, or Software Engineering with strong quality leadership.
  • Proven success embedding quality in product-led, continuous delivery environments.
  • Deep expertise in test automation, CI/CD integration, and modern quality tooling.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, distributed systems, and failure modes.
  • Experience influencing engineering and product decisions without direct authority.
  • Hands-on expertise with full-stack engineering and Salesforce platform development (Sales, Service, Experience, custom platform extensions) is a strong plus.
  • Track record of defining measurable business outcomes (revenue growth, cost reduction, cycle-time improvement, customer satisfaction) and being directly accountable for achieving them.

Things to keep in mind!

  • Alignment: W2 or C2C
  • Applicants should be eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
