Job Description

  

Teledyne Judson Technologies (TJT) is a global leader in detectors from the Visible to VLWIR spectrum, offering an extensive range of single element infrared detectors. Two dimensional focal plane arrays (InGaAs, InSb, and HgCdTe) and Integrated Dewar Cooler Assemblies (IDCA) complement our detector portfolio. Military, space, and commercial markets employ our detectors, which are recognized for high performance. Position Summary

Ensures the quality, reliability and validity of Teledyne’s processes, procedures and Quality Management systems for Teledyne’s Quality Assurance department.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Responsible for Quality System Maintenance and support.

  • Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.

  • Assist Quality Manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system.

  • Lead and Support continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system with tools such as Six Sigma, Kaizen lean methods, etc.

  • Support the development of training to build quality awareness.

  • Interface with Engineering, Procurement, and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new or improved products are in accordance with approved data.

  • Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.

  • Inspect critical devices to ensure product and process compliance.

  • Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.

  • Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.

  • Ability to lead Material Review Board (MRB) meetings both internal and program level.

  • Ability to identity, create, and closeout Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and Preventative Action Reports (PARs) to address non-conformities and opportunities for improvement.

  • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, quality plans, etc.

  • Continuously improving QA receiving inspection process and procedures.

  • Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions.

  • Familiar with MIL-STD, MIL-PRF, IPC, and J-STD for electronic hybrids.

  • Manage suppliers’ performance and conduct audits.

  • Ability to travel to conduct Supplier quality audits.

  • Preparation of Certificates of Conformity, QA reports, and Quality presentations.

  • Support configuration control system.

  • Work with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for tracking and reporting of data.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Quality Engineering experience. Experience with semiconductor processing and/or electronics preferred.

  • Experience using quality inspection tools and equipment

  • ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Management System experience

  • Ability to travel to Supplier’s facility to conduct Quality Audits

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Must be well organized and be able to prioritize workload in a fast paced environment

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project

  • Experience with Read Out Integrated Circuits (ROIC), Infrared Detector Assemblies, and Hybrid Electronics

  • Mastery of ESD and FOD prevention and mitigation

  • Ability to read technical drawings, requirements, Quality Clauses, and SOWs

  • Working knowledge of Configuration Management and Document Control

  • Excel, Word, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat, ERP/MRP, and QMS experience

  • DelTek CostPoint experience desired

  • Valid ASQ Certified Quality Engineer – CQE certification desired

  • Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices

 

Education and/or Experience                                       

  • Completion of a high school degree or vocational training is required

  • ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality auditor training certificate desired

  • A minimum of three (3) years of directly related quality department experience and/or BS degree in a related technical field is preferred

  • ASQ Quality Engineer certification and/or training desired

  • IPC training and/or certification desired

Citizenship Requirements

  • Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a U.S. Citizen.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel to supplier’s facilities to conduct Quality Audits and Source Inspections, approximately 10%.
