As a Quality Engineer - Level 2 your role at Redondo Beach, CA will be pivotal in supporting missions critical to national and global security. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

The Quality Engineer (Level 2) will be responsible for supporting and implementing product and process quality assurance activities for Space Systems programs at our Mechanical Quality Team in Space Park, Redondo Beach CA. Working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams including design engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customer partners the quality engineer will ensure compliance with stringent aerospace standards, support continuous improvement efforts, and help deliver safe, reliable, high-performing products.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

In this job, you will:
  • Understand design intent, failure modes, specifications, and manufacturing processes for assigned products.
  • Support process control, in-process and final inspections, audits, and quality reviews.
  • Analyze non-conformances and lead root cause investigations, documenting preventive and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, manufacturing teams, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
  • Prepare and maintain quality records, reports, and metrics in accordance with industry standards.
  • Interpret and apply AS9100/ISO 9001 standards and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
  • Utilize statistical process controls and quality tools to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Assist with Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Basic Qualifications:
  • . Bachelor's degree in engineering, physical sciences, or a related STEM field and 2+ years of related quality or engineering experience or MS and 0+ years
  • No clearance required to start.
  • Experience in quality engineering or quality assurance roles.
  • Familiarity with QMS, root cause tools, and MRB processes.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including accessing ladders, stairs, and work platforms.
  • Experience with data analytics tools and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship.


PreferredQualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering, or similar discipline.
  • Knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and inspection techniques.
  • Experience with inspection points/plans (I-Plan), SPC, and dimensional inspection technologies.
  • Proficiency with tools such as CMM, laser trackers, and engineering design software (NX, Verisurf, Polyworks).
  • Practical experience with manufacturing operations and mechanical design.
  • DoD or SCI Clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
