Description

We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer to support our Quality Department and production staff. The focus of this role will be the planning, development, implementation, communication, training and maintenance of the Company's Quality Management System (AS 9100). The Quality Engineer will also be working with customers, suppliers, and other Intrex personnel to develop quality processes and standards that support our Quality Management System. This includes inspection techniques, audits, internal and supplier quality corrective actions, and continuous improvement objectives.

The Quality Engineer interacts with Intrex stakeholders, auditors, suppliers and customers so the ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills and the ability to work as a team to solve problems. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is willing to initiate change and improvement.

This position reports directly to the Quality Supervisor but completes most tasks independently.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Monitor company quality data and KPIs
• Provide support for the Quality Management System by conducting or helping others conduct internal audits and assisting auditors during external, customer and supplier audits
• Maintain the integrity of the Quality Management System through review of quality procedures and internal work instructions
• Provide technical guidance and training to the production team members
• Evaluate production processes related to product quality; recommend improvements where needed
• Develop and implement quality procedures to support production, meet customer requirements and other standards
• Perform quality launch for new and existing product
• Proactive and reactive resolution of customer quality issues
• Lead supplier quality issue resolution, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Supervise supplier qualification and approvals process; maintain the Approved Supplier List
• Coordinate the Supplier audits and ensure that findings and/or corrective actions have timely response and effective corrective and preventive actions implemented
• Support all of the Company's continuous improvement objectives
• Maintain QMS documentation and required AS training records

Requirements

Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field of study
• Prefer at least 5 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Required Skills
• Must have advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access) and computer skills
• Must have experience with AS9100 or similar Quality Management System
• Must have applied knowledge of inspection methods and techniques
• Must be able to review and interpret technical specifications
• Must be able to analyze and present data

• Ability to effectively communicate with others, particularly on basic technical issues
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Willing and able to travel (up to 10%)

Work Schedule, Environment and Physical Demands
• Work schedule is 4-10s, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

o Occasional work on Fridays may be required depending on workload
• OUR SHOP IS TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED AND CLEAN!
• Work is performed in an office and on the shop floor of a manufacturing plant
• Ability of lift, push, pull or move up to 35 lbs. frequently, 50 lbs. rarely, and 75 lbs. with assistance
• Extended periods of sitting, standing or walking required
• Must have constant free mobility of hands and arms; physical and manual dexterity required.
• Must be able to pass vision tests required by our QMS

Compensation and Benefits

Starting Salary $80,000 - $100,000 annually
