Position Description:

The Quality Manual Tester upholds quality assurance standards and measures for the team. The QA Tester gathers and analyzes data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements, enhancements, and will plan and support direct supervisor in executing, training, and supporting the team. This will include writing test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in product development, software application development, writing test plans and scripts for application development, information systems, and operations systems.

This is a Full-Time, On-Site employment opportunity located in Lafayette, LA or Bloomfield, CT in a Hybrid Model.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Analyze requirements and user stories to identify test scenarios, acceptance criteria, business rules, and end to end validation needs.
Design, document, and execute manual test cases covering functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, sanity, and UAT testing.
Validate APIs and backend data using tools such as Postman and SQL to ensure data accuracy, integration reliability, and expected application behavior.
Identify, document, track, and retest defects using Jira or Azure DevOps while collaborating with developers, product owners, and business teams through resolution.
Support release and production readiness by performing regression testing, release validation, post deployment verification, and continuous improvement of overall test coverage and quality.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

At least 5+ years of hands-on QA experience, with strong expertise in manual testing for Web UI, functional, regression, and end to end testing.
Proven experience designing and maintaining testing frameworks, reusable test components, API automation, test data management, and automated reporting.
Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SQL, Git, Jira, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Working experience with Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, and AI assisted Quality Engineering, including tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, and Microsoft Copilot.
Strong analytical, debugging, defect/RCA analysis, problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with a focus on automation coverage and continuous quality improvement.

. Perform manual functional, regression, integration, system, end to end, smoke, sanity, and UAT testing for enterprise applications.
. Review business requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria to identify complete test coverage.
. Design and maintain detailed test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, test plans, and traceability documentation.
. Execute test cases, document results, identify defects, and manage the complete defect lifecycle using Jira or Azure DevOps.
. Perform REST API testing using Postman and validate request/response payloads, status codes, business rules, and backend integrations.
. Perform database and backend validation using SQL, including data verification, reconciliation, and validation of application transactions.
. Work closely with developers, product owners, business analysts, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve defects.
. Support release validation, regression testing, production verification, and post deployment testing to ensure stable application releases.
. Leverage Generative AI and AI assisted QA tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, and Microsoft Copilot for test case generation, requirement analysis, test data preparation, defect analysis, and regression impact assessment.
. Continuously improve test coverage, defect prevention, testing efficiency, requirements traceability, release quality, and overall Quality Engineering maturity.

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $56,600.00 $153,300.00.
