Job Responsibilities:

Compensation Range: $75,000-87,000 annually

Hiring Shift: Day

PRIMARY FUNCTION
  • Ensure product quality is planned, established, maintained, and continuously improved throughout multiple assigned programs while supporting customer requirements, APQP/PPAP activities, and cross-functional quality initiatives.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum five years of quality experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of OEM customer requirements and supplier portals, including GM and Ford systems.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, GD&T, DOE, and Global 8D.
  • Experience supporting multiple programs from launch through ongoing production.
  • Understanding of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and applicable customer-specific requirements.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, customer standards, and technical documentation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard business communication tools.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong documentation, organization, problem-solving, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS and applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES B/U- Dept. Manager
  • Manage assigned programs from launch through production, including APQP deliverables, supplier quality, customer requirements, issue resolution, and cross-functional follow-up.
  • Manage NCRs from initiation through closure, including containment, disposition, corrective action follow-up, effectiveness verification, and documentation.
  • Conduct monthly or periodic capability studies to assess process stability, review trends, and work with process owners to improve inconsistent or incapable processes.
  • Serve as the primary Quality contact for assigned programs, supporting customer and supplier communication, escalations, and quality deliverables.
  • Ensure customer-specific requirements and internal quality expectations are understood, communicated, and met.
  • Review customer website portals daily for new customer issues, notifications, scorecard changes, and related quality requirements; communicate and follow up on impacts as required.
  • Represent Quality in APQP, launch readiness, customer quality activities, drawing reviews, design reviews, and program reviews.
  • Coordinate customer PPAP submissions and review supplier or subcontractor PPAP submissions as required.
  • Develop, maintain, and issue Control Plans for prototype, pre-launch, and production phases.
  • Investigate internal, customer, and supplier quality concerns using structured problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Lead or support corrective and preventive actions, verify implementation, and monitor effectiveness.
  • Lead and support scrap-reduction activities on identified programs using A3 methodology, including data analysis, action tracking, and presentation of progress and results to Quality Assurance management for review.
  • Audit production processes for conformance to product specifications, Control Plans, applicable customer requirements, and MAFACT/MQS requirements.
  • Perform weekly Layered Process Audits in accordance with the established LPA schedule and ensure findings are documented, communicated, and followed through to closure.
  • Complete Process Control Plan audits on time to meet the monthly KPI target of 100% completion.
  • Act as the Quality Engineering champion and subject matter expert for assigned MAFACT/MQS sections, including audit preparation, evidence review, gap follow-up, and ongoing compliance support.
  • Recommend improvements to audit plans, inspection methods, procedures, measurement systems, and quality controls.
  • Coordinate Gage R&R studies, calibration requirements, gauge corrections, repairs, and external calibration as required.
  • Coordinate external testing of parts and ensure results are reviewed, documented, and communicated.
  • Prepare statistical reports for customer requirements, production programs, and internal KPIs.
  • Analyze and report I-Chart and Quality Gate data daily at the Fast Response meeting to support issue prioritization, containment, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Close assigned Fast Response board deliverables on time without missing required completion dates.
  • Train Quality Auditors, Technicians, and Operators on new or revised Control Plans, inspection requirements, and quality standards.
  • Support inventory accuracy activities related to nonconforming material, including month-end requirements.

  • Comply with health, safety, environmental, legislative, customer, and company requirements.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, work instructions, and IATF 16949 / ISO 14001 management system requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area and interact professionally with employees, customers, suppliers, and visitors.
  • Complete assigned tasks and other duties required to support business, customer, and departmental needs.

  • Work is performed in office and plant manufacturing environments.
  • Requires coordination with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • May require overtime or flexible hours to support launches, audits, production issues, or customer needs.
