SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:The Quality Engineer II is responsible for ensuring that quality product is manufactured according to established standards and that all customer requirements are met for their assigned value stream while personifying the "One Team" concept throughout Band-IT. This includes conducting audits of production parts and processes, leading efforts in resolving customer complaints, and leading the corrective action process. Other responsibilities include maintaining and reporting on quality process dashboards, creating inspection programs using CMM and/or vision systems, facilitating the PPAP/FAI process, supplier audits, and representation of quality interests in various meetings and teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Customer Quality & Satisfaction
- Ensure customer quality requirements are consistently achieved.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of customer quality concerns, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and effectiveness validation.
- Manage customer approval and validation activities, including PPAPs, FAIs, annual validations, and timely responses to customer requests.
Quality Systems & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with Band-It quality systems, customer requirements, and applicable standards including ISO 9001, AS9100, and IATF 16949.
- Lead internal and supplier audit activities, ensuring findings are addressed effectively and opportunities for improvement are implemented.
- Provide visibility to quality performance through metrics, reporting, and promotion of a culture of quality ownership.
Process Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure manufacturing processes consistently produce conforming products through effective process controls, risk management, and quality planning tools.
- Drive continuous improvement through the development and maintenance of Control Plans, PFMEAs, inspection methods, and corrective action initiatives.
- Lead nonconformance management activities, including MRB participation and implementation of sustainable solutions to quality issues.
Product Validation & Measurement Systems
- Develop and maintain inspection strategies, measurement systems, and quality verification processes that ensure product conformity.
- Create and support CMM, vision system, and other inspection programs while monitoring SPC and process performance.
- Support calibration, gauge studies, and measurement system analysis activities to ensure reliable inspection results.
Cross-Functional & Supplier Quality Leadership
- Serve as the primary quality representative for the assigned value stream, partnering with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Commercial teams, and suppliers to achieve quality objectives.
- Support supplier quality performance through risk assessment, corrective action management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop quality capability across the organization through training, standard work, visual management.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of quality engineering principles, statistical process control, measurement system analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes, assess risk, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Experience utilizing RCCM tools such as 8D, 5Whys, Fishbone.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining inspection methods, measurement systems, and quality controls to ensure product conformity.
- Ability to analyze quality data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations to improve product and process performance.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization and with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related discipline).
- 3-5 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience auditing processes and/or suppliers to standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and IATF 16949.
- Experience utilizing CMMs, vision systems, and other inspection and measurement technologies.
- Experience and working knowledge of statistical quality control.
- Experience working with automotive customers and/or knowledge of automotive quality tools including but not limited to
- PPAP's, Advanced Part Quality Planning (APQP), FMEA's
- Experience conducting Gauge R&Rs
- Experience with GD&T and measurement techniques
Total RewardsThe compensation range for this position is $86,000.00 - $129,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
