Emerald Technologies is seeking a Quality Engineer who is analytical, solutions-driven, and passionate about continuous improvement. In this role, you will ensure our PCBA products and manufacturing processes consistently meet the highest quality standards by monitoring performance, resolving issues, and strengthening our quality systems. You'll collaborate closely with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to drive root-cause analysis, improve process capability, and support inspection teams with technical guidance.
Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer:- Lead root-cause investigations (RCCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality issues and verify effectiveness.
- Perform X-ray validations and support decision-making on product acceptability based on inspection results.
- Develop and maintain Quality Attribute Plans, inspection criteria, sampling plans, and control plans to ensure consistent product quality.
- Apply SPC tools (control charts, capability studies, MSA) and assist in developing statistical methods to monitor and improve manufacturing processes.
- Conduct internal supplemental audits to verify compliance with AS9100, ISO 13485, NADCAP, and internal SOPs.
- Interpret customer drawings and specifications, including Mil-Spec requirements, and collaborate with Engineering and Production to ensure product and process alignment.
- Establish and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications of the Quality Engineer:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) or 3-5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, or related industries, with at least 2+ years in quality engineering.
- Strong understanding of PCBA processes, including soldering, reflow, AOI, ICT, functional testing, and inspection methods.
- Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001/13485, and experience supporting audits and compliance activities.
- Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC), MSA, capability studies, and data-driven problem solving.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
- IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification required; CIT, ASQ CQE, or other technical certifications preferred.
Work Schedule:
This position follows a standard Monday-Friday schedule. Employees may choose between the following shifts:
• 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
• 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Engineering schedules may vary based on business needs and operational support requirements. Flexibility is expected to ensure adequate coverage, and while typical hours are Monday through Friday, occasional adjustments may be necessary.
Budgeted Hours: Full time, approximately 40 hours per week. This is a salaried position, and occasional additional hours may be required based on business needs.
