A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Quality Engineer - Blades & Vanes, you will play a pivotal role in integrating Project, Quality, and Supplier Management within the Investment Castings domain. Your primary responsibility will be to uphold the highest quality standards in the production of hot gas components for our gas turbines supplier network. This will involve planning and executing continuous improvement activities while conducting technical reviews at supplier locations across North America. Establishing and nurturing strong supplier relationships will be essential to ensure the timely execution of quality enhancements and adherence to schedules for both new product implementation and series production. Your expertise will be vital in driving quality assurance throughout the entire production process.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Identify and drive initiatives to enhance the quality of hot gas components produced by our suppliers, utilizing data analysis and quality metrics to pinpoint areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects aimed at optimizing processes, reducing non-conformance costs, and ensuring adherence to quality standards, while employing methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean to achieve measurable results.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to facilitate improvements and achieve key milestones, fostering open communication and collaboration to address quality issues proactively.
  • Lead initiatives focused on reducing costs and delivery times at external suppliers by analyzing supply chain processes and implementing best practices that enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Contribute to overall operational efficiency and provide support across various functions by collaborating with cross-functional teams to align quality objectives with business goals and operational strategies.
  • Provide input to the technology roadmap to ensure the successful positioning of our products for future success, leveraging industry trends and technological advancements to inform strategic decisions and drive innovation.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in quality methodologies, and manufacturing management. A strong background in working with cross-functional teams, particularly in turbine hot gas parts.
  • Project management expertise, strong organizational skills, and critical thinking abilities. Fluency in English; willingness to learn German; additional languages is a plus. Intercultural competence and readiness for approximately 25% travel
