Job Overview:
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support aerospace manufacturing operations at a key client site in Indianapolis, IN. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality, supporting inspection and validation activities, and driving resolution of nonconformances.
This role partners closely with manufacturing, inspection, and engineering teams to manage Material Review Board (MRB) activities, case records, and work-in-process (WIP), while ensuring compliance with all quality requirements.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in interpreting technical data, hands-on inspection experience, and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
Aerospace experience is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide daily quality support to the assigned product line based on business priorities.
* Serve as the primary quality representative for product line quality issues.
* Support additional product lines or operational areas as needed.
* Manage MRB inventory and aged ("wounded") WIP.
* Drive timely review, disposition, and closure of nonconforming material.
* Determine and execute appropriate rework or scrap dispositions.
* Track and reduce aged WIP through proactive issue resolution.
* Lead the creation, maintenance, and closure of nonconformance case records.
* Ensure accurate and timely documentation of defects, investigations, and dispositions.
* Maintain product line quality trackers and drive accountability for closure timelines and data accuracy.
* Verify routers, inspection plans, and quality documentation are complete and accurate at Pre-Final Inspection, Final Inspection, and CMM operations.
* Ensure compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
* Partner with inspection and manufacturing teams to resolve documentation, routing, and quality issues.
* Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective action activities (RCA/RCCA).
* Identify recurring quality issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve quality, delivery, and operational performance.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, and delivery.

Core Qualifications:
* Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or HS graduate with equivalent matching experience
* 2 or more years of experience in a quality engineering role (aerospace manufacturing experience highly preferred)
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
* Strong working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
* Knowledge of quality systems, nonconformance management, and MRB processes
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and validate measurements
* Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
* Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
* Familiarity with AS9100, AS9102, or similar quality standards
* Familiarity with inspection processes and CMM environments
* Exposure to inspection planning or quality documentation systems
* Willingness to support occasional or alternating weekend coverage
