Key Responsibilities
1. Manufacturing & Shop Floor Support
* Support daily production activities in manufacturing cells or modules
* Review work instructions, procedures, and equipment for compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS)
* Provide real-time quality engineering support to operators and inspectors
2. Quality Assurance & Compliance
* Ensure processes meet aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100, internal P&W requirements)
* Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data
* Conduct internal audits and verify process adherence
3. Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis
* Lead investigations into non-conformances and defects
* Drive root cause corrective action (RCCA) and continuous improvement efforts
* Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities
4. Process Improvement
* Analyze manufacturing data to reduce defects and improve quality performance
* Work closely with manufacturing engineering to improve part quality signatures
* Use Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Act as liaison between:
o Manufacturing
o Engineering
o Program management
o Internal customers
* Support communication of quality concerns and corrective actions
6. Inspection & Validation Activities
* Support First Article Inspections (FAI) and process approvals
* Review and approve process authorization requests and work instructions
* Ensure proper inspection methods and quality controls are in place

Additional (Role Variants)
Depending on the specific role (e.g., supplier or transitions quality engineer):
* Work with suppliers to improve quality performance and resolve issues
* Manage APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and other aerospace quality tools
* Assess production readiness and mitigate quality risks in new programs
