Job DescriptionMission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Quality Engineer Analyst to work onsite in Washington DC in a hybrid setting to support our USPS client. This position is a part of the USPS PostalOne! Applications development team which is responsible for developing and maintaining applications to support the business functions of the organization. The Quality Analyst will handle any test activities needed and must be comfortable working on all tiers of application development involving various technologies and be responsible for developing the AI program focused on automating requirements and test case preparation, utilizing Visual Studio Code, Python, Copilot AI, and other tools provided by the Postal Service.
Essential Job Responsibilities- Provide software system testing support, verification of code and certification that all deliverables meet customer requirements and are free of software defects and/or bugs across the systems development life cycle (SDLC).
- Work closely with software engineers and other project team members to successfully test and assess ongoing development within demanding schedules, as well as produce test cases and other Postal project documentation.
- Execute test plans and related test case scenarios based on documented, and sometimes undocumented, system requirements and/or business rules identifying and documenting defects and anomalies. This may include positive and negative test cases, regression test case procedures and simple to complex business functionality.
- Be involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle, as well as demonstrate abilities to learn both the business processes as well as new and existing technologies.
- Design and develop test automation scripts using Selenium with Python, leveraging available AI models and LLMs to accelerate script creation, maintenance, and self-healing.
- Build solutions using Visual Studio Code, Python, and related technologies to harness generative AI and LLMs (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Databricks).
- Integrate existing Python test automation framework with AI-based solutions to improve coverage, reliability, and efficiency.
- Ensure all AI scripts and programs are fully executable on postal-issued laptops within approved security and environment constraints.
- Train designated team members to execute, troubleshoot, and maintain the AI scripts and programs.
- Develop comprehensive training materials and documentation to support knowledge transfer and long-term maintenance.
- Work in an Agile team environment and must be able to produce with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications- 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
Client Requirements:
- Candidate must have hands-on software testing experience and skill using a software defect management tool to log and track defects, providing clear and concise steps to reproduce any issues, using tools such as HP's Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) or Agile User Story management tools, such as VersionOne.
- Minimum 2-3 years of specialized AI development experience in technology or software development using any of the following: Visual Studio Code, Python, Selenium, Databricks, or Co-pilot.
- Possession of analytical, design, troubleshooting and performance turning skills.
- Must be detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze complex and large amounts of data.
- An understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written, and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various levels of customers.
- An ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- The selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a USPS Sensitive Clearance.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder and have been living in the U.S. for at least the last five years.
- Must not have traveled outside of the United States for more than 180 days in the last five years.
- One will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation per HII requirements.
Preferred Requirements- A degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant technical field is preferred.
- Good working knowledge of database structure and be able to perform simple to complex queries using SQL
- Experience with testing in a distributed database environment.
- Knowledge of US Postal Service PostalOne! system is a plus.
