Asheville Hot Section operations is looking for a high-energy, dynamic team leader to fulfill a Director of Quality (Onsite).

This position will be responsible for the strategic leadership and direction to all levels within the Asheville organization and ensure a healthy Quality Management system and a product quality signature.

What You Will Do:
  • As a Quality leader, you'll provide the strategic management and direction to all levels within the organization regarding the planning, direction, and control of all product inspections and the organization's overall Quality system health. We need a person that will exhibit and foster behaviors that conform to the highest levels of business integrity. Ensuring compliance to company, customer, regulatory, and other procedures and requirements, the Quality Director will foster a Quality culture throughout all functions within the organization. Through leadership and effective communication, we expect you to drive the tactical execution of the Quality Management System. This is a leadership role that requires integration and collaboration with the facility General Manager and associated leadership teams.
  • Included aspects of this leadership role are:
  • Establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability and safety.
  • Implements and helps to maintain the site Quality Management System in accordance with current quality standards, reporting on the performance of the quality system for review and as a foundation for improvement.
  • Leads the plant MRB function to efficiently disposition product.
  • Directs the day to day quality and production deliverables and initiatives, to include the prioritization and completion of parts throughout the value stream.
  • Supports the development, implementation and continuous improvement of inspection procedures and technologies.
  • Drives product and process improvements that ensure that the value stream quality metric goals are met (Escapes, Scrap, Rework, Throughput, Process Certification, UPPAP).
  • Organizes, promotes and leads quality improvement efforts.
  • Safety must be driven as a number one priority. Chairs or participates in at least one major site committee for Environmental, Health & Safety. Focuses on Employee Engagement thru communication, training, teaming, management practices, and employee respect to foster a culture of engaged and committed employees.


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree and 12+ years
  • 10+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing and/or Engineering with a minimum of 5 years in the aerospace industry
  • Excellent critical thinking skills to identify root causes to complex issues and recommend options for resolution.


Qualifications We Value:
  • Strong product Quality experience and have lead organizations within an aerospace prime engine contractor or one of their tier 1 suppliers
  • Strong experience in managing Quality Management Systems and user of MRP/ERP systems used in production control, planning, manufacturing execution and MRB
  • Solid understanding of conventional Quality related inspection, NDT/NDI, CMM and other machine shop inspection processes and procedures
  • Solid understanding of Aerospace Quality requirements
  • Experience working with CORE, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma or related Continuous Improvement tools and metrics

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 186,200 USD - 353,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
