Description

Manages quality control activities designed to ensure continuous production/service consistent with established standards. Manages the development and analysis of statistical data and specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy. Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize quality and reliability and to minimize costs. Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring work activities, such as preparation of records and/or progress reports, etc., to inform management of status of work activities. Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to quality and reliability. Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles. Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified strategic plans, or policies. 

Responsibilities
  • Quality Management Systems:Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) specific to rotary wing aircraft, ensuring compliance with aviation standards such as AS9100, FAA regulations, and other relevant authorities.
  • Inspection and Audits:Conduct internal audits, inspections, and assessments of production, maintenance, and assembly processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with the local customer, maintenance teams and all supporting departments/backshops to identify quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Regulatory Compliance:Ensure all products, services, and processes meet FAA and Air Force aviation regulations, safety standards, and customer requirements.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:Analyze quality metrics, trends, and non-conformance reports to identify areas for improvement. Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior leadership.
  • Team Leadership and Training:Lead and mentor quality assurance teams, provide training on quality standards, best practices, and aviation-specific procedures.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Interaction:Investigate customer complaints, manage corrective actions, and ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining compliance with aviation safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Experience:Minimum 10 years in quality management within aerospace, rotorcraft, or aviation environments.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management systems is vital.
  • Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, quality control techniques, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action processes.
  • Soft Skills:Excellent leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills. Ability to work cross-functionally and manage teams effectively.
  • US. citizen with valid drivers license.
  • Secret clearance or ability to obtain (preference given to those with clearance).
  • Must deal with the customer and company employees in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Education:Bachelors degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with rotorcraft-specific maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) processes.
  • Experience with aviation safety management systems (SMS) and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Proficiency in quality software tools, Microsoft Office, and data reporting platforms.This role is critical in ensuring that rotary wing aircraft meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement across all operational and manufacturing processes.
  • Certified Quality Manager (CQM), AS9100 Lead Auditor, or equivalent aviation quality certifications.
