Description

Provides overall management and supervision.  Develops and implements Akima work plans and procedures to meet contractual obligations. Maintains, inspects, and evaluates technical performance to meet established goals and develops and implements new procedures based on Air Force criteria. Responds to directions and/or requests from the customer or Base officials . Ensures total organization effectiveness in the utilization of employees, equipment and material within budgetary, cost and quality standards. 

Responsibilities
  • Manages all site activities. Manages the execution of site operations to ensure that projects are completed in a safe and timely manner. 
  • The Site Manager is responsible for the control and conduct of all administrative, maintenance, logistics, quality, financial and safety operations at the site and is to ensure all contractual requirements are met or exceeded while meeting or exceeding budget goals.
  • Meets regularly with Senior Leadership to discuss operations and ensure that the program is on track in all respects.
  • Must be customer oriented.
  • Shall act as overall manager and administrator for contract effort at his/her site.
  • Responsible for all financial matters within the site to include establishing financial controls to achieve budget goals.
  • Develops positive customer relationships with the COR and local Air Force representatives.
  • Shall be the primary interface and point of contact with local government authorities and representatives on program/project and contract issue.
  • Conduct management meetings as necessary to ensure site is performing to customer and company expectations.
  • Develops local management procedures and controls.
  • Develop and assist in the development of policy and procedures to establish safe work practices and conditions.
  • Participate in monthly Safety Review.
  • Oversee all operational matters as they pertain to meeting successful contractual obligations.
  • Interface with Leadership along with other Akima divisions as necessary to resolve issues beyond local capability.
  • Devote personal attention to the morale and welfare of all employees and is responsible for providing a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Attend meetings as requested by the customer.
  • Ensures adherence to established standards of individual performance and discipline.
  • Participate in the interviews of prospective employees and assist in the selection of new employees.
  • Recommend and initiate personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and appropriate disciplinary action.
  • Takes the actions necessary to ensure that all personnel training, certification, and re-certification requirements are met.
  • Identifies, studies, and implements cost saving initiatives where applicable.
  • Comply with Hazardous Waste Program.
  • Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities, and job assignment.
  • Other duties as assigned by Akima Leadership.
Qualifications
  • U.S. citizen with valid drivers license.
  • Secret clearance or ability to obtain (preference given to those with clearance).
  • Must have ten (10) years of aircraft maintenance supervisory experience.
  • Must possess analytical abilities necessary to handle extremely complex administrative, organizational, and aircraft maintenance matters.
  • Must demonstrate communicative, managerial, and organizational skills necessary to effectively manage site operations.
  • Must deal with the customer and company employees in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.
  • Must have completed high school or equivalent.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must possess the abilities to work in both an office setting as well as an aircraft maintenance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • USAF aviation experience.
  • Rotary-wing exp.
  • College degree.
