Full Job Description
Ryan Herco Flow Solutions/EMI is looking for a Quality Control Manager for our Tualatin location.

OVERVIEW/FUNCTION

Oversee all aspects of the company quality management system. Interface with customers regarding quality issues and campaigns. Inspect, audit, and report on materials, processes, and products using variable attribute measuring instruments and techniques to ensure conformance with the company's quality standards. Train others on quality techniques and policies as applicable.

SKILL LEVEL / KEY STRENGTHS

Employee must be effective working independently with little supervision and with cross functional teams. Strong organizational skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communication skills are required. The individual must be flexible, adaptable and possess a high sense of integrity. Must be able to analyze complex issues and identify robust solutions. This position often interfaces directly with customers and suppliers to communicate product issues and corrective actions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform all work in a safe manner. Promptly report safety issues and any unsafe behavior of others to management
  • Maintain and administer company quality management system
  • Administer and conduct periodic audits of the company's quality management system and suppliers
  • Represent the company during customer quality audits
  • Work with Manufacturing and Engineering departments to develop and improve inspection techniques
  • Review first article inspection reports for accuracy and submit to customers
  • Participate actively throughout the entire new product /process development phase
  • Provide input for new equipment, tooling, and fixture procurement
  • Develop inspection and test procedures as required
  • Identify and track corrective and preventative actions
  • Actively participate in employee training and development
  • Maintain records of employee training
  • Communicate with customers regarding quality issues, objectives, and audits
  • Track internal and external non-conformances
  • Author and generate procedures, work instructions, and other quality documentation as required
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment
  • Understand the urgency of our industry and be willing to work overtime and/or travel upon short notice to satisfy customer needs
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as directed by management


EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A high school diploma or equivalent; degree in manufacturing engineering or other technical degree preferred

At least 2 years practical experience in a quality control or assurance role

At least 2 years quality management experience

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and SPC practices

Experience working in an ISO certified manufacturing environment

Experience in a high purity plastic manufacturing environment preferred

Proficiency with precision measuring tools

Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and GD&T

Proficient with MS Office products, especially Excel

Experience with MRP system (M3 preferred)
