Full Job Description
Were currently looking for a Quality Control Manager / Site Safety and Health Officer. The QCM/SSHO has full authority and responsibility for assuring performance objectives and standards identified in the contract are met. This includes legal compliance and customer expectations. The QCM/SSHO coordinates the activities required to meet quality and safety standards. The QCM/SSHO manages through inspections and evaluations of the processes in working areas to ensure compliance with contract PWS, government regulations and industry standards.

What Youll Do:

QC Responsibilities Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for administration of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Authority to act on behalf of the Contractor, and direct removal, rework, or replacement of defective materials or poor-quality workmanship.
  • Performs Inspections, Identifies Corrective and Preventive Actions, and performs Follow-up Activities.
  • Key contact with customers and responsible for ensuring the execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customers specifications.
  • Prepares and Documents quality plans, policies, procedures and summaries, to include subcontract activities.
  • Plans and conducts internal audits.
  • Verifies Contractor furnished PM records, cards, tags, or logbooks are attached to or placed near each piece of equipment in a conspicuous location.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive quality and company proprietary information and promotes quality awareness.
  • Maintains the Subcontractor Performance Evaluation program coordination and documentation.


SSHO Responsibilities Other duties as assigned.
  • Develop, implement, maintain the Site-Specific Safety Plan, other EHS policies and oversight of emergency response plan
  • Write and review all Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA)
  • Conduct and document Safety Orientations and weekly staff Safety meetings
  • Conduct mishap investigations and near miss cases
  • Correct any safety deficiencies or unsafe acts and if immediate action is required exercise emergency authority to rectify
  • Ensure all departments are following federal, state, OSHA and USACE 385-1-1 regulations by conducting safety training
  • Perform daily Safety and Equipment Inspections to include PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) for the specific work activity being performed.
  • Inspection of task specific, service order, and obtain Post & Keep Burn Permits
  • Present weekly safety toolbox talks and safety briefings; ensuring HAZMAT standards are met and implement Hazard Communication Program


What Were Looking For:

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Some college preferred.
  • At least five years of experience at a comparable level of responsibility in projects of similar size, scope and complexity in construction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Proven ability to develop Quality Plans and Procedures.
  • Knowledge of principals and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.


Qualification / Certifications required for QCM/SSHO

  • Must have 5 or more years of continuous safety experience, in an oversight or management role.
  • Current USACE Construction Quality Certificate.
  • Have completed 30 Hours OSHA General Industry or Construction Course and provide a signed card - with current certificate
  • Current CPR FA AED certificate by the AHA or Red Cross.
  • Professional Safety Course (Desired)
  • EM385-1-1 training (Desired)
  • Valid Driver License and insurable driving record required.
  • Must be able to pass a company drug screen and background check.
