POSITION SUMMARY The Quality Control Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with the requirements of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Certification Program, ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards, applicable industry codes, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This position provides leadership for all quality assurance and quality control activities throughout the fabrication process, ensuring that products consistently meet or exceed quality expectations while supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
This position is also responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's Safety Program and Compliance for City Ordinances and Regulations. Key Duties and essential functions: Quality Management System
Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AISC Certification requirements and ISO 9001 standards.
Ensure quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and forms remain current and compliant.
Monitor quality objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of the QMS.
Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Compliance & Certification
Maintain compliance with all AISC Certification Program requirements.
Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 standards and support successful surveillance and recertification audits.
Serve as the primary company representative during AISC and ISO audits.

Inspection & Quality Control

Develop and deliver quality and safety training programs, including new employee orientation, hazard communication, PPE, incident prevention, and quality system requirements.
Lead workplace safety initiatives by conducting facility inspections, hazard assessments, job safety analyses (JSAs), and risk evaluations.
Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, near misses, and environmental incidents; identify root causes and implement corrective actions to reduce future risk.
Maintain OSHA logs, safety records, training documentation, SDS files, environmental compliance records, and other required regulatory documentation.
Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including emergency action plans, evacuation procedures, fire prevention, and safety drills.
Partner with department managers to ensure safe work practices are integrated into daily operations and quality objectives.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to verify compliance with quality and safety standards.
Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Project Management, and Operations to resolve quality and safety concerns and improve manufacturing processes.
