Full Job Description
We're looking for an onsiteQuality Control Manager for our plant in Salt Lake City, Utah, who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and knows how to balance high standards with real-world production demands.
In this role, you'll be the driving force behind product quality on the plant floor-partnering closely with operations, leading a team of inspectors and technicians, and ensuring every product that leaves our facility meets both customer expectations and internal standards.
What You'll Do:
Lead all quality activities within the plant, including incoming materials, in-process inspections, and finished goods
Build, develop, and lead a team of quality technicians and inspectors across multiple shifts
Partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to identify and resolve quality issues in real time
Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulations
Support and lead customer audits and quality system certifications
Establish and maintain standard work, inspection processes, and documentation
Act as the escalation point for quality concerns, including the authority to stop production when necessary
What We're Looking For:
5+ years of quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (plastics or packaging preferred)
Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced, multi-shift operation
Strong understanding of quality systems, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
Experience working cross-functionally with plant leadership and influencing decision-making
Comfortable being hands-on and present on the production floor
Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
Excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate challenging situations with confidence
Why This Role Matters:
This role is critical to the success of the plant. You won't just be maintaining quality standards, you'll be shaping how quality shows up in daily operations, influencing plant performance, and helping build a culture where doing things the right way is non-negotiable.
What Success Looks Like:
Reduced scrap and defect rates
Improved first-pass yield and customer satisfaction
Strong partnership with operations and plant leadership
A well-trained, accountable, and engaged quality team
Sustainable processes that prevent issues-not just react to them
If you're someone who takes pride in getting it right the first time-and refuses to let quality slip, this is your kind of role.
