Position Overview:We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Engineer to support our production manufacturing operations. In this role, you will oversee and resolve quality issues, assist in the development and implementation of inspection plans, and participate in or lead audits of internal departments and suppliers to ensure compliance with both customer and internal requirements. You will conduct shop floor surveillance to verify adherence to established procedures and standards, while supporting hourly inspection personnel through the development of clear and effective inspection technique documentation.
Location: On-site in Mount Vernon, Indiana
Your Day to Day as Quality Control Engineer:- Support inspection personnel and development of inspection technique documentation
- Leadership of process improvement activities
- Maintain quality assurance records
- Participate in design teams for development of product improvement actions
- Procedure development and ownership
- Maintenance of ISO 9000 Quality system procedures and work instructions
- Management of CAPA (Corrective Action) resolution for component processes
- Design and implement functional gauges for BWXT hardware.
- Prepare capital packages for purchase of new gauges
- Develop and maintain Dimensional Inspection Technique sheets (DITS)
- Create CAD models and drawings
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or technical field
- Minimum of 3 years of quality assurance, engineering or manufacturing experience
- Solid math/statistical skills and knowledgeable in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and print reading
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance
- US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience or knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, welding and assembly
- Experience of knowledge of inspection techniques including dimensional inspection, NDE methods such as ultrasound, mag particle inspection, liquid penetrant inspection and/or radiography
- Strong solid model CAD experience

Pay: $77,000.00 - $116,000
The base salary range for this position in Indiana (US-IN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $77,000.00 and $116,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
