Full Job Description
Position Overview:

The Investor Relations Analyst will play an important role in how BWXT communicates its strategy, financial performance and long-term growth opportunities to the investment community. As a member of a highly visible function within the organization, the Analyst will work closely with the Vice President of Investor Relations and have significant exposure to the Chief Financial Officer, as well as other members of BWXT's senior leadership team, including the Chief Executive Officer.

This position offers a unique opportunity to develop a deep understanding of BWXT's businesses, strategy and financial performance while gaining firsthand exposure to the capital markets and the perspectives of institutional investors and equity research analysts.

The Analyst will contribute directly to quarterly earnings, investor presentations, investor meetings and conferences, financial and competitive analysis, and other strategic communications. The role will also support senior management with market intelligence and analysis that help inform the company's investor messaging and strategic priorities.

Your Day to Day as an Analyst, Investor Relations:

Investor Messaging
  • Support the development of BWXT's external investor communications, including quarterly earnings releases, earnings call scripts, investor presentations, conference materials and other public disclosures.
  • Work directly with Investor Relations leadership, the CFO and other senior executives to develop clear, compelling and fact-based messaging around BWXT's financial performance, strategy and long-term outlook.
  • Develop materials and analyses to prepare senior management for investor meetings, conferences, earnings calls and other interactions with the investment community.
  • Help translate complex financial, operational and strategic information into concise and compelling messages for investors and analysts.

Financial & Capital Markets Analysis
  • Develop and maintain financial analyses and models evaluating BWXT's historical performance, outlook and key business drivers.
  • Analyze financial results and operating trends to identify key drivers of performance and explain variances versus expectations.
  • Monitor BWXT's valuation, trading performance, investor expectations and relevant capital markets developments.
  • Conduct detailed peer and competitive analysis, including financial performance, valuation, strategy, investor messaging and market expectations.
  • Analyze sell-side research, investor feedback and market data to identify emerging themes and provide actionable insights to Investor Relations and senior management.

Earnings & Investor Engagement
  • Play an active role in the quarterly earnings process, including financial analysis, development of key messages, preparation of supporting materials and senior management preparation.
  • Support investor meetings, roadshows, conferences and other engagement with institutional investors and research analysts.
  • Prepare executive briefing materials that summarize investor perspectives, analyst expectations, industry developments and other relevant topics.
  • Track investor and analyst feedback and helps identify trends in market perception of BWXT and its strategy.

Strategic & Cross-Functional Initiatives
  • Develops a deep understanding of BWXT's businesses by working across finance, strategy, operations, legal, communications and business leadership.
  • Supports Investor Relations and senior management on strategic initiatives that may include capital allocation, M&A, portfolio strategy, long-range planning and other activities focused on creating shareholder value.
  • Conducts research on industry trends, BWXT's end markets, competitors and broader financial-market developments to help inform the company's external messaging and strategic decision-making.
  • Supports major investor-facing initiatives, including Investor Days and other strategic presentations.
  • Maintains BWXT's Investor Relations website and helps ensure investor-facing information is accurate, timely and consistent.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial analysis, equity research, corporate finance, or investment banking.
  • Basic understanding of investment concepts and capital markets dynamics.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial modeling, data analysis, and valuation techniques.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to operate under tight deadlines while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) L clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or relevant professional certification (CFA, CPA).
  • Knowledge of financial market data software (e.g., Bloomberg, CapIQ, Factset).

Pay: $65,000 - $103,000

The base salary range for this position in North Carolina (US-NC) at the start of employment is expected to be between $65,000 and $103,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
