Quality Control & Continuous Improvement Manager - MontrealPosition PurposeThe primary responsibility of the Quality Control & Lab Manager is to find opportunities for quality and/or productivity improvements. This position is a point of contact between quality, production and engineering.
Responsibilities and Duties- Manage off-tolerance products and analyze fundamental causes.
- Manage quality improvement projects.
- Develop and provide employee training.
- Ensure sensors and measuring instruments are calibrated and adjusted correctly.
- Monitor new products and components in production.
- Produce monthly reports.
- Optimize and standardize machine settings and adjustments.
- Reduce spoilage.
- Act as the official backup for the QC Supervisor.
- Keep specifications up to date in the quality management system.
- Recommend necessary specification changes to R&D.
Required qualifications- College or university degree.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards (an asset).
- Knowledge of SAP (an asset).
Skills, competencies and languages - Strong analysis and synthesis skills.
- Highly organized.
- Comfortable learning and mastering new software tools.
- Team player with a sense of initiative.
- Excellent command of French and English, both written and spoken.
