Summary

You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the INDUSTRIAL ANALYSIS & PERFORMANCE DEPARTMENT of SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING GROTON.

Duties

Help

• You will independently schedule, plan, and conduct quality program audits of various contractor systems and processes.
• You will assure that the Contractor's programs and products meet agency quality assurance policies in areas such as, quality management, material control and welding processes.
• You will plan and conduct scheduled procedure evaluations for compliance and program operation adequacy.
• You will maintain, analyze and evaluate data resulting from reviews, evaluations, product verification inspections and audits.
• You will review, analyze and evaluate Contractor generated data and reports.
• You will initiate appropriate level of corrective action including Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and corrective action letters for deficiencies identified during conduct of duties and plans for appropriate follow-up on corrective action.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting quality assurance (QA) inspections, assessments, audits, or surveys of contractor performance, facilities, systems, or processes to ensure compliance with established QA requirements and standards in support of shipbuilding operations.
