Summary:
PennAero is hiring a Quality Assurance Manager at our Weldmac Manufacturing location in El Cajon, CA. Weldmac Manufacturing delivers complex formed and welded metal assemblies for aerospace, defense, space launch, and power-generation applications. Since 1968, Weldmac has combined heavy forming, CNC machining, advanced welding, and laser processing to solve large-scale fabrication challenges with repeatable precision.
JobSummary:
Leads, coordinates and manages all aspects of QA department. Producequality products to customer specification and ship customer orders on time,directs and administers quality assurance program designed by performing thefollowing duties personally or through subordinates
PrincipalDuties & Responsibilities:
Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
Leads and coordinates daily activities and schedules in support of operational demand.
Ensure that all employees in QA Department are trained to perform their job effectively.
Direct the continuing review of the QA Program and formulate new or revised procedures to effect improvements and efficiency on a company-wide basis.
Contacts customers and suppliers, when necessary to discuss specific quality problems.
Develop QA plans or procedures that will ensure production of finished product that will meet quality specifications and standards.
Uses cascade communication approach to inform others of unusual or anticipated problems.
Holds daily communication meetings with employees to communicate team goals.
Provides status updates on projects, production, and other status reports as needed.
Prepares employee performance evaluations and conducts performance reviews. Outlines training plans and career prospects.
Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in co-operations with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs
Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.
Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
Directs and coordinates the overall quality specifications and standards for raw materials, processes and finished products.
Ensures compliance with government regulations.
Review research on product defects and recommend modifications in products or quality standards where warranted.
Manage & Coordinate MRB & non conforming products with various department leaders
Manage & coordinate nonconformances with outside suppliers
Manage & coordinate Customer nonconformances
Monitor outside Suppliers and maintain an approved source list
Mange & Coordinate with customers to schedules source inspection -where applicable
This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the El Cajon, CA location.
Qualifications
MinimumEducation & Experience:
BS or BA degree from 4 - year college or university, 10 years relatedexperience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education andexperience.
Desirable WorkingKnowledge or Certifications:

This role involves access to technical data and/or hardware subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). In order to comply with these laws, employment is contingent upon verifying your status as a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15, or obtaining any required government authorization.
Compensation
In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $130,000 - $155,000.
Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
