  • Coordinate compliance activities with engineers and contractors

  • Support food safety and quality programs and drive continuous improvements
  • Participate in quality and safety audits and certifications

Full Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provides leadership in the development, training, execution, and verification/validation ofall quality systems

  • Ensurescompliance toall regulatory, customer, and corporate programs. Leads andparticipatesin regulatory, customer, and internal audits. Provides leadership in the development, training and maintenance of the plant Food Safety and Quality programs

  • Act as the primary contact for internal and external customersand investigate consumer and customer complaintswhile providingwritten communicationregardingthe findings

  • Responsible for developing and monitoring plant sanitationand product safetyprograms to ensure a safe and wholesome productsupply;lead teams through product recall management process

  • Provides leadership to help ensure a safe work environment throughout the plant. Adheres to allsafety policies and procedures

  • Coordinate the activities of engineers and contractors incomplying withGMP’sduring construction activities

  • Work with vendors to correct noncompliance issues concerning ingredients and supplies

  • Responsiblefor supporting and maintaining Food Safety and Quality Programs, along with proactively identifying and executing all continuous improvement opportunities in the areas of safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation.

  • Participates and supports all Quality and Safety audits and annual certifications, including internal audits and paperwork compliance

  • Other duties, as assigned

Education and Experience Required: 

  • Must have a bachelor’s Degree in food related field. (Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, etc.)    

  • Must have 3+ years’ experience in a lead role or management position in a manufacturing environment. 

 

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills: 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of GFSI standards 

  • Demonstrated problem solver with ability to implement effective solutions. 

  • Previous experience designing and deploying training programs 

  • Effective management and supervisory skills 

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English language. 

  • Strong organizational skills 

  • Strategic planning skills 

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail 

  • PCQI Certification 

  • HACCP Certification  

 

Physical Requirements: Qualified applicants must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: 

  • Must be able to balance, bend, crouch, kneel, stand, stoop, and walk Must be able to reach above shoulders, climb, and work off ladder  

  • Must be able to work in dusty, hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment 

  • Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation for 6+ hours per shift

  • Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds 

  • Must be able to wear a respirator

  • Must be able to distinguish objects or equipment visually
