Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for managing quality-control activities within McLane Global distribution center operations, with a strong focus on food safety, regulatory compliance, quality audits, employee training, corrective actions, and KPI reporting. The role works closely with Distribution Center Operations to identify, prevent, and resolve quality issues.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage assigned Quality Assurance staff and support personnel.
  • Partner closely with Distribution Center Operations to identify, resolve, and prevent quality issues.
  • Conduct product quality surveillance throughout warehouse/operations areas.
  • Perform daily quality audits, collect data, and present quality KPIs.
  • Provide floor coverage, training, coaching, and oversight for QA technicians.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly food-safety audits.
  • Develop and monitor corrective action plans, including follow-up with departments to ensure completion.
  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state/local food-safety regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and related training programs.
  • Prepare daily/weekly reports covering Food Safety, Safety, Training, and other KPIs.
  • Communicate quality and safety results across departments.
  • Participate in special projects involving:
    • Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP)
    • Shelf-life programs
    • Product quality specifications
    • Product sampling
    • Food-safety initiatives
