The Opportunity:

Join CACI as a Quality Assurance Manager (QM)supporting our Optical and Photonics Systems (OPS) Business Unit, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and mission assurance of cutting-edge space and airborne laser electro-optical communication systems. This position offers the chance to work with complex electronic, mechanical, and optical systems in a dynamic aerospace and defense environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the quality staff, providing leadership and direction to quality engineers, analysts, inspectors, administrating an operator inspector program.

  • Lead the Quality Assurance Team’s professional development, mentor staff, and strive to improve skillsets.

  • Support Quality Program Managers in customer meetings and other internal CACI companies as needed to address product quality, quality system, and audit issues.

  • Oversee the inspection process, review and approve inspection reports, assuring products are in compliance with engineering and customer requirements.

  • Work with manufacturing, engineering, and program quality leads to define appliable inspection criteria for the various product lines assemblies, establishing a robust in-process inspection program.

  • Align and optimize processes across multiple sites to drive efficiency and improve fidelity of QA operations.

  • Develop strategy for the future quality needs of the company to transition from engineering prototype to rate production.

  • Responsible for continuous improvement of the QMS processes.

  • Drive and collaborate with Operations on defect/scrap/rework reduction initiatives.

  • Support the Mission Assurance Manager to develop, manage, and evolve Quality KPIs/metrics for each site.

  • Implement, manage, and maintain the quality management system of ISO9001 and transition to AS9100 certification.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits, implement corrective actions as necessary.

  • Report on the performance of the quality system for management review.

  • Act as liaison with internal and external parties on matters relating to the quality system and product quality.

  • Manage the non-conforming material report, corrective action, and supplier corrective action process, ensuring the timely resolution of issues.

  • Lead the development and maintenance of a quality system training program.

  • Champion Continuous Improvement initiatives as they support the vision and goals of the business.

  • Oversee and manage metrology technical issues including calibration, gauge R&R, and production capability studies, etc.

  • Create and update work instruction & procedures as needed.

  • Evaluate and implement new inspection technology/ equipment as appropriate.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of Quality Management and/or Quality Engineering experience or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.

  • Knowledge of and experience with ISO9001/AS9100 quality systems.

  • Knowledge in the areas of design, production, product evaluation and reliability, inspection/test, and/or contract review as they apply to product or process quality.

  • Knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action tools, such as Ishikawa, FMEA, FMECA, 5Why, etc.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal, problem solving and time management skills.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to travel to customers or other CACI sites up to a maximum of 50% as needed.

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines with a demonstrated commitment to customer mission and program success.

  • Must Be A US Citizen.

  • Obtaining government security clearance may be required in the future

Desired:

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Manager of Quality (CMQ/OE), Six Sigma Blackbelt, or similar certification

  • Prior experience as a quality engineer supporting product design and production.

  • Prior experience in an organization that provides hardware products for use in space systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully leading teams and successfully collaborating across organizational boundaries

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
