Position Description & Qualifications

Serco supports the U.S, Space Force for the Common Network Planning Software (CNPS) contract maintaining their defense work on ground satellite communication network.

As a successful candidate, you will provide Quality and Mission Assurance support for the CNPS Program. The QMA Engineer will have responsibility for ensuring product, process, and supplier requirements are met while achieving high levels of quality, customer satisfaction, program execution, and on-time delivery.The QMA Engineer will support all aspects of quality and mission assurance for the program.

In this role you will:
  • Lead all quality processes for the program (e.g., audits, independent reviews, quality planning, quality documentation, vendors, parts, program corrective action tracking/reporting, program reporting).
  • Quality representation in program baseline management activities (e.g., Milestone Reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRRs), CCB, peer reviews, code reviews, release planning, test witnessing).
  • Be an active participant in Program Management and Agile Execution (e.g., Sprint Planning, Sprint Execution, Sprint Retrospectives, metrics, etc.) to include working with Scrum Master and program team on making process improvements.
  • Perform documents, drawings, CDRLs, and supplier reviews to ensure compliance with requirements and standards.
  • Perform Software Reviews, Witness Test, Demos and run verifications.
  • Generate program quality plan and report program Quality Metrics (as applicable).
  • Support in the Program Risk & Opportunity Management Board (ROMB) and processes (e.g., monthly risk meetings, monthly risk reporting, and PMRs).
  • Perform Program & Supplier Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis and drive corrective actions to closure.
  • Identify, lead, and participate in continuous improvement projects to improve quality, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and program profitability.


To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance (Interim Secret is acceptable)
    • U.S Citizenship required
  • A Bachelor's of Science degree
    • Or a Master's degree with minimum 7 years of experience in a quality assurance, mission assurance, or related engineering role
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in a quality assurance, mission assurance, or related engineering role
  • Experience performing the duties of a quality assurance with Satellite Ground Systems
  • Experience with Software Quality Assurance (familiar with Software development life cycle)
  • Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management Systems environment
  • Must be able to multi-task and quickly adapt to change when issues arise
  • Strong background and expertise in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Must be able to plan, organize, and establish priorities related to an assignment and the ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with internal business/technical teams and external customers
  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action
  • Travel as required (minimal) up to 10%
  • Must be able to work on-site in Orlando, Florida

Additional desired experience and skills:
  • AGILE / SCRUM Master process experience & certification
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or ISO 9001/AS9100 Lead Auditor Trained/Certified
  • Experience with System and Software Safety requirements evaluation for testability, ambiguity and consistency
  • Familiar with Cyber Security Process
