Full Job Description
As a Quality and Food Safety Manager, you will lead quality, food safety, and sanitation programs for a key business unit within our Grand Rapids plant. In this highly visible leadership role, you'll partner closely with operations, plant leadership, and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, strengthen food safety culture, and deliver products that meet the highest standards of excellence.

You'll have the opportunity to influence plant-wide performance, lead a talented team in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact product quality, customer trust, and business results.

A Taste of What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead Quality And Food Safety Programs - Oversee quality, food safety, and sanitation programs for the business unit, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and industry standards.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement - Identify risks, analyze trends, and implement sustainable improvements that enhance product quality, food safety performance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Build Cross-Functional Partnerships - Collaborate closely with operations leadership, plant quality teams, and hourly associates to promote best practices, maintain compliance, and strengthen food safety culture.
  • Develop And Lead Teams - Manage and coach quality, food safety, and sanitation leaders and associates, fostering accountability, capability development, and high performance across a 24/7 operation.
  • Manage Audit Readiness And Compliance - Lead preparation, coordination, corrective action management, and follow-up activities for internal, customer, and third-party audits.

We're Looking for Someone With
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Quality and food safety leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
  • HACCP certification
  • Knowledge of GMPs, preventive controls, and food safety regulations applicable to FDA, USDA, and CFIA standards
  • Experience leading food safety, sanitation, and quality management systems
  • Audit management experience, including internal and external audits
  • Experience leading teams and managing technical and operational processes


Compensation

The annual salary range is $137,700 - $180,705, which is based on various factors such as location, experience and skill. Discretionary bonuses based on company and individual performance are also available.
