Full Job Description
Quality Action Leader (QAL) is responsible to secure and drive efficient cross-functional problem solving of complex internal and external quality issues. The QAL should be looking at top hitters for warranty R/1000, DPV, FTT and VPCA. QAL is responsible for driving quality improvements by being not just reactive but proactive by securing ICAs (Interim Containment Action) and PCAs (Permanent Corrective Action) are implemented. This role will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Shop Engineering, Production Superintendents, PMT (Plant Management Team), IMQ (Incoming Material Quality), PPT (Plant Procurement Team) R&D, and Central functions within all regions.

What you'll do

  • Initiate and lead Plant Kick-Off Meetings for critical quality issues that involve vehicles that have risk of leaving the plant
  • Represent and speak on behalf of Plant Quality in car programs from TT (Tool Tryout) to 3 MIS (Months in Service)
  • Secure implementation of containment/corrective actions for plant quality issues
  • Work cross functionally to solve complex quality issues that require 2nd & 3rd line analysis
  • Lead the QAT (Quality Action Team) team by having cross functional meetings discussing top issues for the corresponding function area, establishing priority for items, follow-up on necessary actions taking place and presenting out on warranty status
  • Coordinate, analyze and investigate data to highlight quality issues that needs containment and alert key stakeholders when needed
  • Lead PQE's (Plant Quality Engineer) with data analysis and problem solving
  • Lead and support PQE's and QAS's with Control Plan verification
  • Gather data and update KPI tracking for reporting to PMT (Plant Management Team)
  • Create, issue and follow up on training plans for new team members (PQE/QAS/CSA); along with assisting in defining team member's roles


What you'll bring

  • Minimum 5 years working experience
  • Technical basic competence on Bachelor/Master level of Engineering or similar
  • Leadership experience and training
  • Comfortable and skillful in presenting for a larger group of Stakeholders
  • Knowledge about processes, methods and tools within Manufacturing and Research & Development
  • New Model program experience
  • Proven skills in Practical Problem solving and knowledge in Quality Tools e.g. Global 8D, 6 Sigma or equivalent
  • Experience from different areas in Production Plants and/or other relevant functions within the Company
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written
