Responsibilities

About the Opportunity

As a QHSE Advisor you will support several projects to meet the requirements of the Quality, Safety and Environment Management systems. The role will also involve assisting the site teams and managers by recognizing hazards and seeking to minimize risks whilst creating, maintaining and improving the health, safety, and environmental standards. You will champion QHSE initiatives in the workplace while ensuring that QHSE processes are being adhered to (inspect / assess) in accordance with site standards, best practices, company requirement, and legislated standards for quality, health, safety, and environment.

Essential Functions
  • Perform critical duties for continuous improvement in QHSE performance
  • Produce regional QHSE statistics monthly, identify trends and take proactive initiatives
  • Lead by example for all QHSE KPIs (safe driving behavior, opportunity reporting, behavioral interventions, stop work authority, etc.)
  • Communicates appropriate QHSE related information on an accurate and timely basis
  • Lead or assist management in incident investigations and near misses, while completing required documentation
  • Encourage overall hazard identification and reporting of all incidents and near miss incidents by all personnel
  • Maintain positive, consultative relationships with outside stakeholders to ensure expectations are met in the areas of loss control, environmental performance and quality
  • Provide ongoing leadership, coaching in safety and loss control techniques, while being visible, approachable and available to all levels, with the objective of improving our efficiency and minimizing our losses
  • Coordinate and deliver regulatory and internally required annual QHSE training for new hires as applicable
  • Coordinate and deliver monthly safety meetings to employees
  • Communicate QHSE standards to employees to ensure compliance with company, regulatory and industry standards
  • Observe employees to determine proper use of prescribed safety equipment and make related recommendations
  • Demonstrate the proper use of personal protective and site safety equipment
  • Inspect and assist with DOT field compliance and training
  • Inspect all areas of operations for injury and environmental hazards and lead identification exercises
  • Ensure all personal protective equipment, site safety equipment and first aid supplies are adequate, available and readily accessible by crews
  • Conduct and report internal QHSE inspections at the discretion of QHSE Director
  • Represent Solaris QHSE at regional customer and industry safety meetings
  • Required to work a 24-hour call basis, be able/willing to travel as required, field travel will represent 90% of work scope.
  • Build detailed presentations covering inspections to review with Field Coordinators, Basin Supervisors, and management. These will be used to relay findings, cover issues found (good and bad), reinforce SOI standards and culture, and get feedback that can be useful to management for improvements to Operational needs.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and attending customer meetings covering PBRs, RCAs, and NPT events as assigned.
  • These will be used to focus on customer engagement and interaction.
  • Assist in monitoring all NPT JPNs ensuring accuracy, and that RCAs have been completed by the basins.
Experience/Education
  • Bachelor's or Associates Degree (preferred)
  • 4-6 years' experience in quality, environment, health and safety
  • Safety Training Experience desirable
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, DOT and other industry relevant federal and state regulations
  • Practical knowledge of well servicing and/or drilling operations and/or power generation operations
  • Working knowledge of hazard identification techniques, safety equipment, and industry best practices
  • Working knowledge of incident investigation and root cause analysis processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
