Job DescriptionPosition Summary Responsible for implementing the QA/QC Plan and coordinating project testing, inspections, and reporting in collaboration with the Project Commissioning Lead, Shop Managers, and project team. Supports continuous improvement of quality processes throughout the full project life cycle.
Position Details- Manages and documents inspections for jurisdictional, contract compliance and 3rd party requirements. Document management of inspection set of drawings and individual tests leading up to final inspection coordinate jurisdictional visits with trade superintendents, include required and appropriate documentation in programs (such as BIM360 Field) for testing documentation.
- Maintains certifications for qualified individuals and continuity logs verify work being done in accordance with qualified procedures and individuals.
- Ensures that all materials and construction are in accordance with the requirements for the completeness, accuracy and constructability in accordance with applicable building codes and project specifications.
- Participates in progress and QA/QC meetings. Reviews contract drawings to identify areas where scope clarification is needed to ensure installation aligns with CD's. Verifies that RFIs and submittals address any identified differences.
- Documents fabrications in accordance with Work Package's. Identifies deficiencies in either quality or accuracy, document deficiencies via NCR and have corrected prior to shipment to site. Provides visit summaries and documentation to communicate Work Package status to the project team.
- Verifies equipment and systems installed comply with appropriate install details, requirements manufacture and/or contract drawings, completeness and quality. Develops list of items that need corrected with Trade Superintendents and/or Shop Managers. Tracks and oversees items on list to completion. Involved in L2 process and documentation for equipment receiving and set in place (ready for energization). Works through resolution of owner punch items relating to install scope quality with Trade Superintendents, Shop Managers, and other team members.
Qualifications - High school or diploma or GED
- Some vocational or technical training preferred
- Minimum 7 years' experience in progressive quality control roles preferred
- Minimum 2 years' people management preferred
- Strong understanding and experience in Lean construction/manufacturing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects
- Advanced customer service skills
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite-Excel and Word and Bluebeam
