Full Job Description
Responsibilities

The QAPI Coordinator will collaborate with the Stroke Program Medical Director for the system, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of clinical care provided to the stroke patient population as set by the guidelines formulated from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) and for achieving/maintaining stroke certification(s) for the State of NJ and Joint Commission. Will provide in-depth knowledge of stroke care and procedures in order to drive systematic evaluation of stroke clinical care with an emphasis on patient safety and improving stroke care. Will review and analyze issues, identify opportunities for improvement, recommend corrective actions, and provide ongoing monitoring. Will utilize a standardized approach in evaluating the care delivery processes with an emphasis on decreasing variation and improving outcomes.

Qualifications

RN with license to practice in New Jersey and BSN required. MSN preferred. Five (5) years of clinical nursing experience, including two (2) years' experience with stroke patients Minimum of one (1) year of critical care experience including the care of stroke patients or one year experience of neuroscience clinical required. National certification related to Stroke Care within twelve (12) months of hire. Maintain NIHSS certification. Working knowledge of performance improvement, licensure and regulatory/accreditation requirements. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN. Demonstrated skills for teaching; organizing, planning and establishing objectives; data analysis and action planning; developing and maintaining strong and positive working relationships with internal and external customers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present to a wide variety of audiences (C-Suite, clinical/nonclinical staff, patients and their families, community). Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Internet required. Ability to be self motivated and effective problem-solving techniques.
