The Opportunity

This role is be responsible for supporting Project Quality Managers and/or auditors with their daily tasks providing a foundation for career development within the quality assurance discipline.

Key Responsibilities
• Learns the Black & Veatch Quality Management System (QMS) including: policies, manuals, procedures and best practices
• Applies the QMS to daily support activities including:
• Supports independent internal and external quality audits/and assessments
• Supports the monitoring and evaluation of projects (QA checks) to applicable governance to ensure quality of work
• Learns how to apply and support project needs with QMS tools like Corrective Action Requests, Preventive Action Requests, Nonconformance Reports, Deviations, Process Requirements Engagement Program (PREP), Lessons Learned
• Supports quality-related process improvement activities or quality department initiatives
• Gathers information and analyzes performance of assigned processes and projects
• Supports implementation of project quality process changes, including creating / revising Division QMS documents
• Typically interfaces with multiple project teams and professionals simultaneously
• Periodic travel will be required
• Individual contributor with no direct reports

Preferred Qualifications
• Preferred Technical Skills:
• Basic understanding of principles, practices, techniques and theories of quality processes
• Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Basic knowledge of financial measures as well as related principles and application
• Basic understanding of industrial design and construction
• Ability to understand instructions; verbal, numeric, and spatial aptitudes; perception of detail in verbal or tabular materials; analytic, precise, and problem solving
• Ability to manage small development projects (resources, scope, schedule, results, and risk)
• Basic understanding of ISO 9001:2015 principles
• Preferred Non-Technical Skills:
• Demonstrates intermediate: Process management, conflict management, total work systems, written communications

Minimum Qualifications

4 year degree in Management or Business. Minimum 5-8 years prior experience specifically in the development and implementation of effective Quality Compliance Audits. For a Nuclear Position: . 5 years of total experience in nuclear QA oversight. . Curren All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Certifications

ASQ Certified Auditor training Certification: Certified Quality Auditor; active member of American Society for Quality (desired)

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Normal office environment; may include heavy industrial construction exposure. Occasional physical work conditions: Capable of walking 5 miles and climbing stairs to 300 foot height; walk, climb stairs, ladders, move in/out of vehicles; lift or move up to 25 pounds; supplier or construction site environment has frequent exposure to vibration and loud noise, and occasional exposure to airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, slippery uneven walking surfaces, and risk of electrical shock.
