Full Job Description

This position is responsible for leading one or more quality assurance labs (e.g., Microbiology, Analytical Chemistry, Sensory or Supplier) or leading a team of technical experts across multiple sites and contributing at a very high scientific level.  This position develops, implements, executes, and improves world-class methods to conduct day-to-day product and process analysis to provide information and to make informed product and process quality decisions.  Expert level knowledge across multiple scientific disciplines is required to support high level decision making and troubleshooting activities.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide leadership and direct supervision to Quality Assurance Scientists, Technicians, and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership on decisions concerning product quality, corrective actions, and product disposition.
  • Develop and implement innovative, advanced methods for assigned areas including all supporting mechanisms (e.g., SOPs, training documentation/aids, tools, equipment, logs, databases, control charts, project intake, etc.)
  • Apply advanced methods (e.g., Design of Experiments) and/or specialized skills and knowledge to solve complex problems and/or make improvements to products and processes
  • Mentor and trains others including NBB employees, customers, suppliers and/or industry professionals in area(s) of technical expertise
  • Understands interrelationships between the individual job function and the rest of NBB organization and the effect of individual actions on the whole company.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments within New Belgium to support process improvements and project work.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of personnel within the organization, including presenting information and responding to questions from various individuals and groups or managers, clients, customers, and the public
  • Lead major project and/or focused improvement efforts, implementing findings across Enterprise as applicable.
  • Provides longer-term strategic direction and shorter-term detailed plans for Quality department
  • Participate in industry collaborative and external comparisons to validate NBB test methods
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Education/ Experience/Skills:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent training and related work experience with a minimum of eight (8) years of on-the-job experience
  • Post graduate degree desirable
  • Expert working knowledge of disciplines related to assignment (e.g., Analytical Chemistry, Microbiology, Sensory, Material Quality and/or Quality Systems)
  • Well respected and recognized by peers in the industry as an expert in their field
  • Ability to exercise initiative and judgment as well as make decisions within the scope of assigned authority
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, deploy and improve assigned processes to industry leading or one of the best in the industry



Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift objects up to 80 pounds and carry for 3 steps
• Ability to lift objects up to 37 pounds overhead
• Ability to walk up and down stairs carrying objects up to 6 lbs.
• Ability to demonstrate their ability to stoop, climb, squat, and reach overhead
Percent of Travel: 10%-40%

Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Bell’s and New Belgium's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons. 

Starting Salary Range: $110,000-$125,000
