Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety standards and policies set by Suncor and Mine Mobile Maintenance organizations.
  • Identify loss areas in Mine Mobile Reliability and create plans to address them.
  • Perform mechanical integrity inspections on over 60 components during maintenance services.
  • Maintain central database of inspection data, complete deficiency reports, and prepare month-end stewardship reports.
  • Timely communication of inspection findings and submission of SAP work notifications, collaborating with various teams to resolve equipment issues.

Overview:
QA Mechanical Inspector supporting mobile equipment reliability through inspections, technical reporting, analysis, and cross-functional problem-solving in a 70/30 field-to-office role.

Minimum Requirements:
  • A Journeyman trade ticket in heavy duty mechanics, a technologist diploma in Welding/Materials/Mechanical Engineeering technology, or experience and certification in Non-Destructive examination
  • Five years of related Quality Assurance (QA) experience
  • Previous In-Service Inspection experience on Mining Mobile Fleet
  • Mobile equipment experience (Shovels, Trucks and Support Equipment)
  • Ability to drive in active mine area
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, and GE APM, with strong communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and business decision-making skills
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record is required

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all Suncor safety standards and policies as well as those set out by the E&R and Mine Mobile Maintenance organizations
  • Assist in identifying top loss areas within but not limited to Mine Mobile Reliability and help create plans to eliminate or reduce losses
  • Perform mechanical integrity inspections on over 60 separate components at regular intervals during maintenance services and mobile equipment outages
  • Maintain inspection and measured data in a central database, complete deficiency reports for routine and non-routine inspections, and prepare month-end stewardship reports on incomplete inspections
  • Communicate inspection findings in a timely manner, submit SAP work notifications with scope, parts, and risk-based data, and collaborate with planning, engineering, maintenance, and vendors to resolve equipment issues efficiently


Location and other Key details:
  • You will work out of our Suncor Base Plant in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Your shift will be Monday to Friday, with potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • This position has been identified as safety sensntive
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record is required
