About the role
As a QA Automation Test Lead - Life Insurance and Annuities, you will make an impact by delivering functional and automated testing across life insurance and annuity applications and their integrated platforms. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with business analysts, developers, product teams, and other stakeholders to support reliable, compliant, and high-quality releases.

In this role, you will:
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, and Playwright for web-based and integrated applications.
• Perform functional, integration, end-to-end, and regression testing across FAST/Hexure, SuranceBay, FireLight, and related life insurance and annuity workflows.
• Maintain and enhance existing data-driven and behavior-driven development automation frameworks using tools such as Cucumber and TestNG, while developing reusable test components.
• Use Generative AI-enabled tools, where applicable, to support test scenario creation, test data preparation, and automation script development.
• Integrate automated test suites with Jenkins or Azure DevOps pipelines and support the execution of quality checks during release cycles.
• Validate end-to-end electronic application processing and data exchanges across FAST/Hexure, SuranceBay, FireLight, and connected applications.
• Test agent licensing and appointment workflows, electronic application processing, electronic signature functionality, new business processing, and underwriting integrations.
• Conduct regression testing for policy issuance, underwriting rules, product configurations, forms, and regulatory requirements associated with Fixed Indexed Annuity products.
• Prepare test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test data, execution results, defect reports, and requirements traceability documentation.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to investigate defects, validate resolutions, and support user acceptance testing and production validation activities.

What you need to have to be considered
• Hands-on experience in functional testing and test automation for life insurance, annuity, or related financial services applications.
• Experience testing Verisk FAST/Hexure, including policy administration, new business, underwriting, product configuration, or policy issuance workflows.
• Automation experience using Java, Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, and/or TestNG.
• Experience performing integration, end-to-end, regression, and functional testing across complex application environments.
• Understanding of life insurance or annuity products, including Fixed Indexed Annuities, business rules, forms, compliance requirements, and underwriting processes.
• Experience preparing test plans, test cases, automation scripts, test data, defect reports, and requirements traceability documentation.
• Experience collaborating with business analysts, developers, and product stakeholders throughout the software development and testing lifecycle.

These will help you stand out
• Testing experience with SuranceBay agent licensing and appointment workflows.
• Testing experience with FireLight electronic application and electronic signature workflows.
• Experience integrating automated test suites with Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with Generative AI-enabled testing tools or the use of Generative AI to support test design and automation.
• Experience supporting user acceptance testing, release validation, and post-deployment production verification.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $83,250 - $132,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
