You will develop and maintain Python applications, REST APIs, and data-processing solutions; integrate internal and external systems; and collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver reliable solutions.
The role also supports cloud-based deployments and CI/CD processes, along with unit testing, debugging, production support, performance optimization, and secure development practices.
What You'll Work OnAs a Python Developer, you will:
- Develop and maintain Python applications supporting insurance business processes, including Policy, Claims, Underwriting, and Billing systems.
- Build REST APIs and backend services, and integrate applications with internal and external systems using APIs and web services.
- Develop data-processing and automation solutions using Python and SQL, work with relational databases, and optimize SQL queries.
- Develop and maintain applications using Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions in an Agile/Scrum environment.
What You'll BringYou will likely be successful in this role if you have:
- Strong hands-on Python backend development experience, including building REST APIs and backend services.
- Experience developing applications using Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Experience with SQL, relational databases, data processing, and query optimization.
- Experience integrating applications through APIs and web services and supporting cloud-based deployments and CI/CD processes.
- Experience with unit testing, debugging, production support, performance optimization, and secure coding and development best practices.
How You Work- You collaborate effectively with business and technical teams to understand requirements and turn them into practical solutions.
- You are comfortable working hands-on across development, debugging, production support, and ongoing application improvement.

Bonus Points If You Have- 7+ years of relevant software development experience.
- Prior experience supporting insurance systems or business processes, particularly Policy, Claims, Underwriting, or Billing.
- Broader experience across Python web frameworks, cloud-based deployment environments, or CI/CD processes.

The compensation range for this position represents our good faith estimate of the range we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, education, work location, and internal equity.
In addition to hourly pay, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commissions, or other incentive programs, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, etc.
Estimated hourly Compensation Range:
$55-$65 USD
